(Wowowow, il s'en passe des choses sur ce flyer ! D'abord le line up bien-sûr : première venue en France de Dixon, de Spicy Pete et de Ben Klock ! sisi. Et on ne les connaît tellement pas à l'époque qu'on orthographie pas encore bien le nom de Mister Ben(e) Klock... Une soirée allemande donc, en partenariat avec les berlinois de Suct, l'une de ces marques de fringues streetwear typique des 90's. Mais il se passe des choses aussi au recto de ce flyer : le garçon au pull troué qui ouvre le dancefloor du Queen c'est... Mathias Cousin, le dessinateur du "Chant de La Machine"... Bring back the memories, il est toujours le temps des premières fois ! – do you remember that party ?)

(Wowowow, a lot of things are happening here. First, look at this line-up: we’re pretty sure it was the first time that Dixon, Spicy Pete and Ben Klock played in Paris! Shame on us for the typo on Ben(e) Klock… Respect to Berlin and to its underground house scene in partnership with Berlin’s streetwear brand Suct. On the photo side, you might recognize Mathias Cousin, the artist behind “Le Chant de La Machine”, the cult comic book about house and disco. Bring back the memories – how was that night?)

One third manga, one third p**n and one third skate culture… Welcome to Suct’s world! The Berliner brand is not just about provocative t-shirts. It’s also a club, some resident DJs and soon a label. The sound of Suct? The best of the German underground house. For the soundclash, Respect brings the Parisian touch of Jef K, still high on the release of his compilation “My House”. Definitely not for f**kers… On the back, Mathias is warming up.

Respect, every Wednesday at Queen, 102 avenue des Champs Elysées. Open bar from 11.30pm to 0.30am. And it’s still free.

True Words, couldn´t have said it better than him. Virgil Abloh expressed some of the thoughts and the emotions that also motivated me to create "suct" - the brand name of the brand criticism or a constructive process to continuously iterate on culture with the means to improve. A brand name for culture criticism beyond cancel culture which doesn´t take itself too seriously. Like criticism emerging out of reflection about a current status quo beyond concepts of the ego. An iterative process to continuously improve and approximate these spaces between back and white (or other extremes). With a slight touch of Yellow also... Maybe we shouldn´t have opted out to work with Karl Lagerfeld back in the Ninetees or refused to give sample collections and production contacts to other competing brands. suct as a concept though was beyond itself. Including some of its precursors like for instance a certain form of capitalism and certain forms of consumption. You have to remember that our shirts were build out of material which was meant to last for at least 30 years and more just like normal average army shirts of the German Bundeswehr back in the Ninetees. Where as suct as a concept is continuous like the thought of looking at the present time with the futuristic understanding of the present being the past in the future. Trying to address problems in the course of finding solutions of improving certain situations in certain ways. Communicating without speechless. Strong communicative tools for the suppressed or the intellectually understanding. Our shirts used to be just too expensive for some kids to being able to afford them. Even the suct founders thought so. This is why they were suggesting that these shirts actually weren´t meant to being worn that much. They were individually hand numbered originals designed to being collector items. Maybe like NFTs today. In 1997 a selection of suct shirts were being shown in an art exhibition in Poland close to Ausschwitz. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKYp1t0-xYw
