Berlin Handshape คือโปรเจกต์ที่ทาง visitBerlin องค์กรที่โปรโมตเมืองเบอร์ลิน ที่ต้องการรวมผู้คนเข้าด้วยกัน โปรเจกต์นี้ได้เชิญชวนให้คนแปลกหน้ามาทำความรู้จักกัน และเก็บสะสมก้อนดินเหนียวที่เกิดจากการจับมือกันจำนวน 10,957 รูป ที่มีความแตกต่างกันไปแล้วแต่คน ซึ่งตัวเลข 10,957 ก็คือจำนวนวันที่จะครบรอบ 30 ปีที่กำแพงเบอร์ลินถูกทำลาย . 9 พฤศจิกายน ครอบรอบ 30 ปี แห่งการทำลายกำแพงเบอร์ลิน กำแพงแห่งความแตกแยกที่กั้นประเทศเยอรมนีเป็นสองฝักสองฝ่ายในยุคสงครามเย็น หลังจากผ่านไป 28 ปี กำแพงนี้ก็ถูกทลายลงจากคลื่นมวลชนฝั่งตะวันออก ทำให้เยอรมนีกลับมารมประเทศได้อีกครั้ง . ในโอกาสครบรอบ 30 ปี ชาวเบอร์ลินก็เตรียมเฉลิมฉลองให้กับการครบรอบครั้งนี้กันไปยาวๆ 7 วัน คือวันที่ 4 พฤศจิกายน ไปจนถึงวันที่ 10 พฤศจิกายน ภายในงานก็ประกอบไปด้วยหลากหลายกิจกรรมไม่ว่าจะเป็นการระลึกถึงกำแพง การจัดแสดงนิทรรศการต่างๆ โดยหนึ่งในนั้นคือ Berlin Handshape ที่จะนำก้อนดินรูปทรงต่างๆ ที่เกิดจากการรู้จักกันมาแสดงมากกว่าหนึ่งหมื่นก้อน . Beim interaktiven Kunstprojekt der Handshape Project GmbH werden immer zwei Menschen, die sich nicht kennen, miteinander ins Gespräch gebracht. Mit einem Stück Ton zwischen ihren Händen geben sie sich einen Handschlag und entdecken im Gespräch Gemeinsamkeiten. Zusammen formen sie einen einzigartigen Abdruck ihrer Begegnung – den Berlin HANDSHAPE. Insgesamt 10.957 Handshapes – einen für jeden Tag, der am 9. November 2019 seit dem Mauerfall vergangen ist – bilden am Ende eine Kunstinstallation, das Monument to Human Connection. Es soll zeigen, wie wertvoll zwischenmenschliche Begegnungen sind. Das Berlin HANDSHAPE-Team war in im Oktober u.a. auf Tour im Bikini Berlin.
