Preview Video Art Programm of Projektraum LS43 at Berlin Art Week, 26—30 SEP 2018 / Berlin Art Week
starting tonight: WHAT IS GERMANY (PART I & II)
29.09.2018 & 03.11.2018, a two-parts video art program curated by Jos Diegel.

Part I will be presented in FLUCA - Austrian Cultural Pavilion in Plovdiv, Bulgaria on 27th, 28th and 29th of September 2018. Part II will be screened at the artist-run centre Sporobole centre en art actuel in Sherbrooke, Canada from 22nd of October until the 4th of November 2018.
The full program will be shown in Berlin, each part projected on one of the two windows of Projektraum LS43 from 29th of September until the 3rd of November 2018.
On 29th of September, a preview of the program as part of the Berlin Art Week, will take place at Projektraum LS43 at 8:30pm.
A Street Meetup will also be held at Projektraum LS43, on 20th October, at 20:00.
The program includes 24 artworks, involving diverse video and film techniques, presenting peculiar perspectives on how one can understand Germany nowadays.
As the title suggests, WHAT IS GERMANY is a project meant to challenge our eyesight and appreciation of this geographic part of the world. However, the approach which led to the development of this project does not put the focus on constructed concepts such as nationality, origin or language. By adopting such a larger understanding, this exciting program curated by the artist Jos Diegel for Projektraum LS43 aims to present singular understandings and inquests about digital populism and propaganda. It submits an overview of Germany’s art-film-scene and intends to engage an active reflection about growing, significant questions, issues and visions concerning the German actual context and environment.
These raised themes are all more so highlighted by the unconventional structure of the Projektraum LS43 itself, which reinforces the possibility of building a dialogue between visitors, passers-by and the Berlin-Moabit’s urban environment.
