International Theatre Directing Programs Our courses are designed for a new generation of performers, theatre and movement directors: artists TEACHERS
Sergei Ostrenko and Gennady Ostrenko.

This residential program is open to dancers, choreographers, actors and contemporary circus performers working in various genres and styles, interested in the practical creative research of Physical Theatre as a bold, vibrant and multidimensional approach to contemporary performance. The school provides the fascinating and inspiring encounter of artists from diverse artistic backgrounds and techni

ques; creates the platform for exchange, network and collaboration in multicultural and multilingual artistic environment and encourages the artists to search for the universal “intercultural” language in contemporary performance. Participants will research the connection between physical action and voice, gesture, movement, dance and word, explore performer's physicality as the key to form, style, atmosphere and emotional palette, learn to build up the composition of the form and the language of the artistic space of the performance, gain helpful practical tools and valuable tips for mounting a contemporary physical theatre performance stepping beyond the limits of text-based acting, acquire a reliable practical toolkit for creating contemporary professional productions in limited rehearsal time. Practical sessions develop in the form of various exercises which progress from simple to compound. Gradually the group proceeds to group improvisations and structures. Every day sets advanced creative tasks developing the preceding steps. Through the system of consecutive exercises the group grows common language and trust, ability to collaborate and create together. The Lab is a great opportunity to approach a unique methodological and practical material that will enrich your professional skills and will offer you the possibility to share an intense creative experience at a global level. The working language is English.

We've got some exciting news for you! This January, we're heaing to the bustling city of Berlin for a jam-packed workshop on Physical Action in Performance Making. 💥

Whether you're a seasoned actor, director, choreographer, circus director, or dancer, this three-day lab is the perfect opportunity to level up your skills and take your performances to new heights. We'll delve into the ins and outs of building captivating characters and images, connecting elements to create seamless performances, and exploring the creative freedom of improvisation and spontaneity.

Not to mention, you'll also get an introduction to the highly acclaimed Ostrenko Brothers Method, a powerful approach to performance that is known for generating innovative productions.

WHY THEATRE DIRECTING IS UNIQUE AT NIPAI? Become a director by performing, experimenting, learning and creating performances and shows. At the NIPAI, students learn from day one through hands-on experience.

Director is the person who is responsible for everything in the performance, who works with performers, composers, stage designers, costume designers, choreographers and other members of professional crew. Our teachers will demystify the craft of directing, and challenge you to master the art of performance making! Become professional director through immersion into the performing arts and exploration of all aspects of professional work.

NIPAI promotes the needs of people to be professionals in any age and in any sector of creative industries.​
