[CONCERT TOUR - Freiburger Barockorchester]
🔍The best way to explore new musical territory is with old friends. Richard Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll marks new repertoire for the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra (FBO), which, under the musical direction of Sir Simon Rattle, approaches this masterpiece through the lens of historically informed performance.
🎶 The rest of the programme is devoted to two cornerstones of the nineteenth-century repertoire as well: Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major and Schumann’s Symphony No. 2. Long-standing artistic partner Isabelle Faust joins the orchestra as soloist.
⭐ With the same ensemble, but this time performing an all-Schumann programme, the tour continues to some of Europe’s most prestigious summer festivals:

[LOVE & CONFUSION - Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century]
💓 Emotional entanglements on a desert island: Joseph Haydn's opera L'isola disabitata unfolds an intimate chamber drama reminiscent of Marivaux: a tale of love, adventure, affairs, heartbreak and happiness.
⭐️ At Musikfest Bremen, the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century presents a semi-staged performance under the direction of Benjamin Perry Wenzelberg.

⭐️ When the legendary Kronos Quartet takes the stage, audiences can expect anything but a conventional string quartet programme!
⭐️ Joined by the outstanding German actor Martin Wuttke, they appear at the VIA NOVA Corvey Festival before presenting their anti-war programme "Responding to War" two days later in Heerlen.

[BEST BAROQUE - Il Giardino Armonico]
🎶 The music of both Antonio Vivaldi and Joseph Haydn lies at the heart of Il Giardino Armonico and Giovanni Antonini's artistic identity.
⭐️ Next week, they join forces with the internationally acclaimed soprano Julia Lezhneva for a programme of Baroque concertos and arias, alongside Haydn's solo cantata "Arianna a Naxos".

[A CELEBRATION OF BACH - Phantasm - A Consort of Viols]
🎶 The wonderful ensemble has attracted international acclaim with its arrangements of selected works by J.S. Bach for viol consort.
😍 This year, the ensemble is part of the opening of the Appenzeller Bachtage, promoted by J. S. Bach-Stiftung, and presents works by Henry Purcel and parts form Bach's "Well-Tempered Clavier".

[CONCERT RECORDING - Phantasm - A Consort of Viols]
🎻Revisit The Journey of Instruments series, curated by Naseer Shamma نصير شمه, as it reached the European Baroque to explore how the European lute descended from the Arabic oud.
🇬🇧 Phantastic Phantasm and lutenist Elizabeth Kenny presented music from the golden age of England’s consort tradition, featuring works by John Dowland, William Lawes, and others, last may at Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin.

[WAGNER CYCLES - Ravello Festival]
🎶 In 2023, the long-term project The Wagner Cycles was launched. Under the overall artistic direction of Kent Nagano and Jan Vogler, "Der Ring des Nibelungen" has been re-examined since 2023 in the context of its historical origins and on the basis of current research into Richard Wagner and historical performance practice.
🌅 With Kent Nagano on the podium, Concerto Köln, the Dresdner Festspielorchester and renowned soloists presented excerpts from the fourth and final part of the cycle on the breathtaking stage of Villa Rufolo on the Amalfi Coast.
