Dust and Distance: A Line to Berlin
Gittan Jönsson at Abracadabra Institute

Abracadabra! A spell is cast. A feminist uprising unfolds. A legend steps into the light. Gittan Jönsson—feminist titan whose work graces Sweden’s Moderna Museet—conjures rebellion at Berlin’s artist-run hideout. From her 1960s Stockholm roots to her former Berlin studio, Jönsson has wielded art as magic: turning dishes into revolutions, vacuums into battle cries. Returning now to Berlin’s art scene, she conjures a feminist ritual—part protest, part prank, part puff of smoke.

At Abracadabra, where trial and error spark alchemy, her paintings—sharp, witty, feminist—reclaim domesticity as defiance. Her dammsugerskor (vacuuming women) sweep in, trailing cords like fuses, clearing space for revolt. Her film Parallella linjer (Parallel Lines – A Women’s Historical Document) traces 1970s activism to today’s burning question: Has art’s fight for equality stalled?

In this Berlin spell, her vacuum cleaners hum with rebellion, her canvases pulse with resistance. Step into the spell. Watch the dust settle into something new.

Anna Livia Löwendahl–Atomic

On view at Curiosorum II: two interconnected works exploring presence and absence, resemblance and rupture.
An AI-generated self-portrait, trained on images from a lifetime — a contemporary memento mori in the age of machine vision.
A broken wine glass, repurposed from a past installation.
A disappearing phrase:
I AM AFRAID OF NOTHING.

These pieces are shown alongside a series of otherworldly prints — fragments from an evolving visual archive.
None of the works are fixed. They form part of a shifting vocabulary: appearing, dissolving, recombining.
Like the void itself — immaterial, yet made tangible; a fragment scattered, and a constellation forming.

Encounter Siyavash Ghassemzadehgan’s sculptural work at Curiosorum II — cast in concrete and standing with quiet, deliberate presence.

Drawing on archaic proportions and ancient memory, the piece evokes the column not as structure, but as symbol — its meaning shifting with the gaze.

Chloe Grove

Step into Chloe Grove’s surreal universe at Curiosorum II. Her vibrant works blend the whimsical and the macabre — where demonic embroideries, psychedelic brushstrokes, and sculptural fragments form an alternative reality.

Each piece subverts traditional forms with dark humor and meticulous detail, revealing a world where creatures mutate, symbols slip, and idle hands do the devil’s work.

Experience Up Side Down Town at Curiosorum II — a rotating cityscape suspended from the ceiling, where cameras, projections, and sound bend time and space.

Crafted from recycled materials and lit in real time, this audiovisual installation turns the world on its head, inviting viewers to question what is up, what is down, and what lies between.

Steve Nietz
(detail from a larger painting, title unknown)

Encounter the enigmatic world of the elusive artist Steve Nietz at Curiosorum II. His haunting paintings depict liminal spaces where the mundane intersects with the mystical.

This detail view (with incidental light reflections) — drawn from a larger composition — captures a dreamlike scene: a robed figure sits between a horse and a stag, surrounded by spectral trees and flickers of otherworldly light.

Across three works on show at the exhibition, Nietz evokes a ceremonial stillness at the edge of perception — where the ordinary slips into the uncanny.
