30/06/2021

"It is obvious to spot a plant-like figure in the middle of the composition of the “Untitled” (2020) with the big teeth; it is almost related to another figure like holding it as a baby. In Corona-Fly (2020), it is clearly depicting a multi-layered scenery like a surrealist art historical painting, and the drawings on the left side of the composition connect us with its poetry. Fruits, leaves, letters, and an eye float in the air, like swimming in the sea; is it the Sun on the right above? How would life on Earth be possible without it?
Another recent painting, Mum (2020) focuses on framing a moment of a gaze. There is a figure looking like a child; the wings which are attached to its body are also looking like the tangled curls of the girl, or the boy, or the girl… Is the child staring to a seed, is what she or he is holding (like a mobile phone) and staring at is a seed? If one cannot be sure of the answers to any of these questions, they can be sure about one thing. The blue animal figure looking like a sheep is emphasising the presence of Donna Harraway in the room, it is her smiling at the viewer. These recent drawings share common visual vocabulary like sharing an art history, like Dalí, Kandisky or Miró; lines, colours or dimensions are painted as juxtaposed forms. They are intelligibly referring to our collective unconscious."
