Kings of Doc Expanded is a dive into the extremely rich and abundant independant documentary film creation.

We screen films that stand out by their exploration of new forms and ways of telling stories of the real. Kings of Doc, c’est le meilleur du cinéma documentaire. Une plongée dans un univers pas si familier mais d’une extrême richesse. Portés par des fous de cinémas, des films rares voire inédits, récents ou plus anciens, mais qui, au milieu d’une production foisonnante, ont toujours su se faire remarquer par leur engagement, leur réalisation, leur sujet ou leur travail d’investigation.

🎉 La tournée européenne de s’est clôturée il y a quelques jours. 3 mois sur les routes, entre Berlin, Genève, Lausanne, Strasbourg, Marseille ou Cassis pour plus de 20 événements.
Un projet fou, après deux ans de préparation, en collaboration avec , et qui a pris forme grâce à l’implication tous les partenaires.
👋 Un immense merci à Khalik Allah, pour sa générosité, sa disponibilité, sa curiosité et pour inspirer toutes les générations avec son œuvre et ses mots à travers l’Europe.
→ La tournée joue les prolongations sur tenk.fr avec une rétrospective de ses œuvres jusqu’au 29 juin, en France, Belgique, Suisse Luxembourg.
— 🎉 Khalik Allah’s European tour came to an end a few days ago. 3 months on the road, between Berlin, Geneva, Lausanne, Strasbourg, Marseille and Cassis for over 20 events.
A crazy project that took two years to prepare, in collaboration with , and which became a reality through the involvement of all our partners.
👋 A huge thank you to Khalik Allah, for his generosity, his availability, his curiosity and for inspiring all generations with his work and his words all around Europe.

💥💥DAY 7💥💥

It is difficult to put into words how happy and grateful we are for the outcome of Kodex 2024! Thank you all so much for joining us for a week of extraordinary films and for your love and support. We promise to keep giving our best to bring an excellent program next year.

We would also like to thank all the filmmakers who participated by providing their films and the theaters that hosted the festival.

Last night we had the chance to talk with Maciek Hamela after watching his arresting documentary „In the Rearview“, a tragic but powerful testimony of the horrors of war.

To close the festival we traveled to the virtual world of Knit’s Island to find unexpected glimpses of profound humanity. Thank you E. Barbier, G. Causse & Q. L’helgoualc’h for this film.

Last night at Kino Krokodil, we traveled back in time with Mila Turajlić’s Non-Aligned, a moving film that revives a political inaginary through archives. Thanks to all of you who came!

Tonight is the last night of the festival! 🥹
We’ll start at 18:00 @ Kino Krokodil, with an outstanding and deeply moving film: IN THE REARVIEW followed by a Q&A with director Maciek Hamela.

To close the festival, join us for the screening of KNIT’S ISLAND by Ekiem Barbier, Guilhem Causse & Quentin L’helgoualc’h, a spectacular film that oscillates between virtuality and reality.
