ENGLISH VERSION

The ReED – Red Noses in Early Childhood Education project is coming to an end 💛

From October 2024 to February 2026 we coordinated this Erasmus+ project to strengthen quality and inclusion in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC), combining clown pedagogy and non-formal education.

Together with partners in Italy, Germany and Greece, we developed and tested tools to support children’s socio-emotional growth, foster inclusive learning environments and value each child’s uniqueness.

📘 The ReED Handbook is now free and available in multiple languages.

🎈 ReED continues in our daily work

Over these months, ReED – Red Noses in Early Childhood Education has been a meaningful journey of exchange between schools and the world of clown pedagogy in early childhood education.

We’ve gained new skills, practical tools, and—most importantly—new perspectives that we will carry forward in our everyday practice and in our classrooms.

Our commitment to social-emotional learning and to building more inclusive school environments does not stop here: today it feels stronger, more grounded, and more shared—thanks to everything we learned through ReED.

A heartfelt thank you to all the partners who made this possible:
🤝 Teatro C’art Comic Education APS (Italy)
🤝 Istituto Comprensivo Statale di Castelfiorentino (Italy)
🤝 Pestalozzi-Fröbel-Haus (Germany)
🤝 Akata Makata (Greece)

📘 The ReED Handbook is available in English, Italian, German and Greek — a practical resource to keep these learnings alive and growing > Link in BIO for download

Play, imagination and connection are at the heart of the ReED – Red Noses in Early Childhood Education handbook ❤️🤡

Through clown pedagogy, the handbook offers simple yet meaningful activities that help families and educators support children’s social and emotional development in joyful ways.

✨ Some favourite exercises include:
• Emotion Exchange – children explore feelings through movement, noticing how emotions live in the body and learning empathy by “swapping” emotions with others.
• I am… the Room! – a collaborative game where children and adults become living objects, encouraging creativity, teamwork and perspective-taking.
• Copy the Clown – mirroring activities that strengthen attention, non-verbal communication and connection between parent and child.
• Playing with Opposites – exploring fast/slow, big/small, strong/soft to build body awareness and emotional expression through play.

The handbook invites families to slow down, be playful and create safe spaces where emotions can be expressed freely.

Because sometimes the most powerful learning happens when we laugh, move and imagine together 💛

The ReED project in 2025 brought us shared time, intense working sessions, and continuous exchange among professionals, trainers, teachers and educators, schools, and local communities in Italy, Greece, and Germany 🤝🌍
A co-creation journey that allowed us to develop the ReED methodology together, testing it in different contexts and enriching it through an international perspective.

This work also took shape through three micro-events, involving children and families across the three countries 👧👦👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, making the methodology alive, concrete, and deeply rooted in relationships, with a strong focus on social-emotional education and inclusion ❤️🎈

A year that strengthened practices, built alliances, and opened up new — and necessary — questions.

Now we look ahead: see you in 2026, to share our ReED handbook 📘 and meet again at the final conference, ready to reflect on the journey so far and imagine the next steps 🚀
