ABOUT THE ARTIST
Vanessa Neuber

Vanessa Neuber is a Brazilian interdisciplinary artist and curator based in Berlin. Her practice moves across collage, installation, artist’s books, painting, poetry, and video, connecting word and image, the visible and the hidden, and the dreamlike with the everyday.

With a background in design, art history, and analytical psychology, Vanessa approaches artistic creation as a path of self-knowledge and transformation. She often works with discarded or unconventional materials, turning ordinary objects into poetic and symbolic forms.

Her artistic and curatorial research engages with belonging, migration, feminism, sustainability, mythology, mindfulness, and impermanence. Rather than offering fixed answers, her work opens spaces for reflection, inviting viewers to reconsider what seems familiar and to imagine other ways of relating to the world.

For LAR – Home ist nicht nur ein Ort, Vanessa explores home as a shifting emotional territory shaped by memory, distance, care, and the need to create new forms of belonging.

She is also the curator of the exhibition.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Elisa Carreno

Elisa Carreno is a Brazilian artist and curator whose practice begins with emotion, memory, and the need to give form to experiences that are often difficult to express through words.

Working across painting, collage, and installation, she explores how cultural traces, sensory memories, and everyday rituals shape our sense of identity and belonging. Her process is intuitive and material-led, allowing colour, texture, gesture, and repetition to guide the development of each work.

References to her Brazilian background emerge through vivid chromatic compositions, organic forms, and an ongoing connection to tropical flora. Rather than illustrating memory directly, Elisa transforms it into atmosphere: something that can be felt, recognised, and shared.

Her work invites viewers into a space of vulnerability, familiarity, and presence, where small gestures and fragments can become a source of connection.

For LAR – Home ist nicht nur ein Ort, Elisa reflects on home as an affective construction shaped by distance, care, memory, and the relationships we continue to carry with us.

A tiny door can hold a big story.
What door would you like to build?

A portal, a memory, a safe place, or an entrance to somewhere new.

Tiny Doors, Big Stories is a hands-on miniature workshop with .art , where each participant will create their own tiny door: a small-scale object built with materials such as wood, paper, paint, textures and found details.

Think of it as a miniature set piece: like a tiny doorway from a film, a dream, a memory, or an imagined world. It can be realistic, symbolic, playful, strange, personal, or completely fictional.

During this 2.5-hour workshop, .art will guide you through the process of designing, assembling and decorating your miniature door step by step.

No previous experience needed. All materials are included.

The workshop will be mainly held in Spanish, but English speakers are warmly welcome! we can move between Spanish and English so language doesn’t become a barrier.

ALOCOR #1: Flor Bobadilla Oliva 💫

The series kicks off with none other than Argentine singer and actress . Flor will perform a repertoire that spans various rhythms and genres of Argentine and Latin American popular music, with a hypnotic Misiones-style accent. Those who already know her know exactly what we’re talking about. Those who haven’t had the pleasure yet will see for themselves.

After the concert, we invite the audience to join the collective listening session, where EVERYONE is invited to PARTICIPATE

🔊 BRING A SONG TO SHARE!

Important: To make it easier for as many people as possible to participate, we’ll be holding the session using DIGITAL FORMATS. In other words, the songs you “bring” must be uploaded in a digital platform (Bandcamp, SoundCloud, etc.) that we can access from the electronic device we’ll have available.

What if your next trip to Venice came with the right people?

From 2–8 November 2026, Karne Kunst is bringing together a small group of just eight people for a week in Venice during the Biennale.

Not a packed tour.
Not a professional conference.
Not seven days of rushing from one exhibition to the next.

This is a shared experience for people who enjoy contemporary art, good conversations, beautiful places and the pleasure of discovering a city in interesting company.

We will visit the Biennale, explore independent art spaces, walk through Venice, share meals, exchange ideas and still have time to wander, rest or follow whatever catches our attention.

You might come as an artist, curator, cultural worker, researcher or simply as someone curious about art and culture.

What matters most is that you are open, interested and happy to be part of a small group of thoughtful, inspiring people.

Seven days. Eight people. Venice together.

A few places are still available.

Bardo is not only a presentation venue.

We are interested in experimental, collaborative, and process-based practices that take a specific shape in dialogue with the space, its scale, community, and atmosphere.

LAR – Home ist nicht nur ein Ort
Art Exhibition Opening

Bardo Projektraum is pleased to invite you to the opening of LAR – Home ist nicht nur ein Ort, an exhibition by Brazilian artists Elisa Carreno and Vanessa Neuber .art, exploring how the idea of home is reconstructed through migration, memory, care, and everyday rituals.

Beginning with the question of when a place of residence becomes home, the exhibition brings together personal narratives, sensory memories, and shared migratory experiences. Through painting, collage, embroidery, photography, assemblage, and participatory installation, LAR approaches home not only as a physical place, but as an emotional space shaped by belonging, longing, intimacy, protection, and connection.

The exhibition unfolds through works that reflect on childhood shelters, friendship, physical contact, cultural memory, resilience, and the gestures that help us create a sense of familiarity far from where we began.

Curated by Vanessa Neuber, LAR transforms the exhibition space into a poetic and welcoming environment, inviting visitors to reflect on what we carry with us, what we leave behind, and how art can itself become a temporary form of home.

Something is taking shape.

Venice has always been one of Marcela's favorite cities. Every time she returns, she remembers the same thing: Venice is not a city you "complete." It's a city you live.

This November, Karne Kunst is organizing a small group trip to Venice for the Biennale. Not a tour package — something more intentional. A week of looking at art together, walking slowly, eating well, and traveling with people who see the world through a cultural lens.

We're going November 2–8, 2026. A maximum of 8 people.

Details coming very soon. If this sounds like your kind of November, follow along.
