TATWERK | PERFORMATIVE FORSCHUNG is a production centre and studio for the performing arts in Berlin. The artistic research focus in physical theatre, dance and performance with a particular attention to interdisciplinary projects. TATWERK is a crossing point for artists who chose the body as material and the research as a tool for their work. Our work consists in offering an artisic exchange plat

form for ideas, artistic practices and projects. Our main interest concentrates on multidisciplinary, political and poetic projects in the field of the performing arts. We are particulalry interested in the research of thematic and aestheitc tension fields beween different artistic, social and scientific disciplines. The resulting program consisting o classes, workshops and performance projects is completed by events ans festivals where chosen artists present their work in form of previews, work in progress or ready productions. We open our network and activate new, unexpected connections. TATWERK | PERFORMATIVE FORSCHUNG responds to the need of many artists for an open space and pursues long term work relationships.

📍 Tatwerk | Performative Forschung

Can a group be safe and at the same time have the revolutionary power of a mob? The paradox of a safe mob is the driving force of the piece that investigates how we connect and come together in groups. Inspired by feminist theory, such as Donna Haraway's "Staying with the trouble”, the performers seek to find answers to that question by insisting in the creative and generative potential of difference and friction. They explore the deep longing for dissolving in the other and build temporary structures that gain stability through resistance. The dancers inhabit a realm of messy encounters that breath through desire, repulsion and the fascination.

Do you work in multilingual teams and wonder how that shapes the way you write funding applications?  This two-day workshop with Aurora Kellermann (TATWERK | Performative Forschung) explores exactly that — from recognizing language patterns rooted in different native tongues, to collaborative writing methods that turn linguistic diversity into a creative asset.
Participants will analyze existing application texts, work in small multilingual groups, and develop practical skills they can bring directly back into their practice. 
In German and English | Questions and comments also welcome in Italian.

A performative documentary movie about languages, migration, racism and encounters.
About the attempt to translate and to be translated.
Through the story of Demet and Alaa, “Es war einmal in Café Kotti” explores the mutual and continuous intermingling of our selves, and the linguistic and cultural hybridity that we might embody and in which we all live every day.
Are then static concepts such as identity, belonging and nation-state still able to encompass all the rich and generative nuances, complexities and layers of experiences, relations and languages of our contemporary world?

The performance is in German, Italian, Arabic (Egyptian), Turkish and English with English subtitles.

🌱 NCC 2026 – Die Treffen des Auswahlkomitees haben begonnen!

Vielen Dank an alle, die an unserem ersten Treffen des NCC-Auswahlkomitees teilgenommen haben – es war ein fulminanter Start, bekannte Gesichter vom letzten Jahr wiederzusehen und neue Menschen im Komitee willkommen zu heißen!

Wir haben uns im Dütti Treff getroffen, einem Nachbarschaftsraum im Gräfekiez. Nach einem ersten Kennenlernen, haben wir zusammen entscheiden, wie wir miteinander sein und kommunizieren möchten, die Kriterien definiert, nach denen wir Projekte bewerten werden, und haben einen ersten Blick in die Bewerbungen geworfen.

Dies war Treffen Nummer 1 und uns stehen noch 5 weitere Treffen bevor!
Alle sind herzlich eingeladen, dem Komitee zu jedem Zeitpunkt im Prozess beizutreten. Kommt nächste Woche dazu!

Unser nächstes Treffen findet im TATWERK statt, wo wir gemeinsam weitere Bewerbungen sichten werden – einen Schritt näher an der Auswahl des Projekts, das die Werte und Kriterien, die wir uns gesetzt haben, am besten widerspiegelt.

Wir sind sehr gespannt, wohin uns diese gemeinsame Anstrengung führen wird! ⚡️
