Today 5 years ago, I was sitting with @pepijnstreng and Adam in @laurierboom in Amsterdam and had the idea of Chess & Jazz!
It’s great to see where it all went in the meanwhile and that we are such a great community now with over 1400 chess and jazz enthusiasts 🥰
Thanks to Pepijn, Adam, Melle, Thomas, Aurel, Mikael and many others for spending some really fun evenings together.

„Thelonious Monk is probably best reflected in the chess world, by Michael Adams, while Magnus Carlsen is more like Tony Williams – a prodigy and trendsetter.“ – Levon Aronian (#7 FIDE chess ranking)
It is easy to compare chess and jazz as they both require similar abilities, such as creativity, adaptability, a good understanding of space and structure, decisiveness, great knowledge of the past, passion and focus.
Chess & Jazz Berlin finally joins together what belongs together in a monthly event at Transit Bar/Restaurant on Schlesische Straße in Kreuzberg. All you have to do is drop by, play a nice game of chess and listen to great live jazz!
There will be 10 chess sets for everyone to use and you can always bring your own board and pieces to make sure you are not lacking a set.
The purpose of the group is to create good chess content that contains many chess skills in openings, middle game and end games. I hope you will join the group and I also hope you like the group
