SASKIA REIS

"In her recent work "BEACH", Reis approaches the poetry of "la dolce vita", which comes to life in pure perfection on a day out alla spiaggia. Through panting over images which she has been shooting in Italy for several years now, she creates abstraction from specific identities, and underlines a universal experience of relaxation, belonging, peace and beauty."

"These works are an attempt to look at ourselves as`hidden beings‘. Our true self is veiled by layers of thoughts and emotions. I like to look at this condition of being trapped in a veil, where we are seeing little of what could be there."

STEFANIE LOVEDAY

"Landfall, Collapse" interprets the artificial landscape of an open pit mine in Germany. It explores the temporal nature of open pit mining as a site of changing geography: the erasure of a rural town for geological mining and the renaturation of the site as a lake. Drone footage mimics the abstract landscapes documented in satellite imagery, while a virtual reality recording from Google Earth explores the same open pit mine as a glitchy digital construct.

SARA HERRLANDER

In my artistic practice I'm currently focusing on the ambivalent human desire to be both deeply interconnected and intertwined with our surroundings while still retaining an idea of independence and self government; discussing the importance or impossibility of trust. I do this by focusing on human figures in mundane everyday situations that synchronously find themselves caught and trapped in a disrupted and isolated emotional state.

PAVLOS IOANNIDES

"I like to dream. To disappear. Into emptiness. Into rainbows. And the bells ring. And the flowers arrive. And I look in the mirror. And I fall in the sand. And my hands are wet. And they dissolve into water. And I am up on the roof. And the crowds are down. And they look at my feet. And I look at their heads. And then nobody speaks. And then all of them scream. And the curtains fall down. And the lights turn on. And the monsters appear. Drawing shadows in storm."
