Katapult

Welcome to Katapult – a studio for contemporary performing art located in Berlin, Germany. Training and creation in contemporary performing art

The 10-year anniversary weekend consists of more than the traditional Katapult Kabaret, which of course is the core of the weekend.

We worked hard, to come up with quite a nice surrouding programme.

If you are free before the show and you come directly from work with an empty stomach, then you can purchase a portion of vegan traditional Krautkrapfen. Parallel to that, enjoy the screening of the short dance movie 'Unanim Us' by Rixa Rottonara. While waiting for the doors of Studio 2 to open, visit the little photo exhibition by Turlach O Broin about some artists, who performed at previous Katapult Kabarets.

Relax, laugh and be entertained by in total 16 artists during the Katapult Kabaret from 20:00-22:00. (Tickets needed, limited capacity).

From around 22:00 three different DJs prepared great beats to dance, chill and hang out. We are celebrating 10 years of art and culture. If you are busy before, feel free to come to the party only, it will have an open end. No entrance, donation welcome. During the party Riccardo Bernardi prepared a light installation.

We look forward to celebrate with you.

Please get your tickets in advance, we mught be fully booked for the Kabaret.

Today we introduce Alex.

Alex will present a sound art performance using an experimental wearable instrument - part of an ongoing research into sound masks. Alex started out with juggling/object manipulation, but in recent years his practice extended into experimental music, sound art and object based performance. Throughout all these different creative periods he has trained, created and performed in Katapult, supported and encouraged in his experiments by the Katapult crew. Performing at the venue's anniversary is an opportunity for him to celebrate this creative relationship.

We very much look forward to having Alex with us on our big anniversary weekend. Thank you!

Are you as excited for the 10-year-anniversary weekend, as we are? The pre-sales is going well. Better get your ticket rather early to not miss this special weekend.
Today we want to introduce: The silent shout.

A ball juggler and a waving dancer meet at their newsdesk and read the headlines without saying a word. At the intersection of dance, juggling, puppetry and magic, No News is poetic and abstract, dark yet humorous. Using minimal resources, Silent Shout say almost everything about absolutely nothing. They present a short extract of their 30 min show.

Today we want to introduce Kira Metzler. We very much look forward to welcoming Kira on stage with the act 'SAND'.

'Sand that runs through our fingers - faster and faster. We can't hold on to it. A thousand images show us what is happening: Injustice as far as the eye can see. Memories are supposed to protect us from repetition, but humanity is weak. And the movie starts all over again. My heart - it trembles.'

We look forward to welcome Sylvain on our stage!
