Founded in 2024, the Berlin Piano Duo Festival has since grown into a small team united by the shared vision of establishing Germany’s first festival dedicated to free piano duo improvisation. The third edition of the festival will take place on 4 & 5 November 2026 at the exploratorium berlin.
To help realize the 3rd edition of the Berlin Piano Duo Festival, we are currently running a crowdfunding campaign. All donations will be used exclusively to cover travel expenses, fair artist fees, as well as piano tuning, documentation, and other production costs. We would be very grateful for your support by donating or sharing the campaign.
The festival is dedicated to free and experimental improvisation for two grand pianos. Berlin-based and internationally acclaimed pianists meet in an unconventional setting that differs from the classical concert format, engaging in a musical dialogue without predetermined stylistic boundaries. We aim to place the broad spectrum of individual artistic expression at its center while giving the piano duo within free improvisation greater visibility and recognition.
