Antwerp Type Society is an association for creatives, who mainly focus on designing, or have a strong interest in, letters and text. Antwerp Type Society intends, initially, to highlight the Antwerp type scene, and is a space where professional designers, motivated starters, and enthusiastic aficionados can get inspired, find information and network, by attending type-related events. Society embraces the diversity in the world of letters, and regularly schedules creative events on typography, lettering, digital type design, letter drawing, graffiti & street art, book design, logo design, poster design, letterpress & other printing techniques, type technology, and so on. Antwerp Type Society is a platform which offers, among others, (hands-on) workshops, talks, type-jams, master classes, exhibitions, performances, screenings, happenings, and type-parties, each given by national and international experts from the work field. The goal of Antwerp Type Society is to be a lively centre for qualitative type education, research & networking, where professional and educative collaborations can be established, and aims to expand, in due time, to other national type scenes.
