Das Red Square Festival 2020 wurde aus gegebenem Anlass auf 2.-3. Oktober verschoben.

Фестиваль Red Square пройдёт 2-3 октября 2020.

Мы уже второй месяц проводим кинопоказы и дискуссии онлайн, но вынуждены перенести основную программу фестиваля на октябрь. Нам было сложно принять это решение, но мы не могли его больше откладывать. Перед нами лежит груз ответственности перед участниками, партнёрами и всем вами, кто на протяжении последних лет поддерживает наши инициативы в Берлине и Восточной Европе. Во времена карантина гражданский сектор, культурные инициативы, театры и галереи испытывают большие трудности. Мы хотим их поддержать и, в то же время, провести фестиваль в таком формате, который позволит минимизировать возможность заражения. Мы регулярно мониторим ситуацию, надеемся, что к осени корона отступит, но параллельно ищем альтернативные форматы для проведения концертов. В общем, держим пальцы крестиком с надеждой, что к октябрю ограничения на передвижения будут сняты, и мы с вами сможем отпраздновать окончание этого безумия.

Все ранее купленные билеты действительны, а продажа билетов со скидкой продлена до сентября. Если вы не можете принять участие в фестивале, билеты можно вернуть на портале Еventbrite. Мы будем благодарны, если вы решите оставить билеты — так мы сможем в полной мере поддержать художников и площадку Культурфабрик Моабит, которые сейчас переживают тяжелые времена.

Для нас Red Square Festival является некоммерческим проектом, который ежегодно оставляет дыры в бюджете Dekabristen e.V. Но мы верим в его ценность как независимой площадки не только для берлинцев, экспертов по Восточной Европе и выходцев из пост-советских стран, но и как платформу для диалога, обмена и поиска новых партнёров для проектов в области критического искусства и активизма в Германии, России и странах Восточной Европы.

Red Square Festival @ Kulturfabrik-Moabit
May 12, 2018.

You might have already heard about the Red Square Festival. After a break in 2017 former members of the Ruberoid Team and new curators decided to launch a brand new German-Russian Festival in Berlin. ✯ red square festival ✯, happening on May 12, 2018 at Kulturfabrik Moabit has lofty goals. It aims to bring together music, art and civic initiatives into one multidisciplinary celebration. The main headliner is the notorious Trubestkoy from Minsk. Also performing will be Berlin’s own MirMix Orkeztan (Global Grooves), POLLY TIKK (French-Russian Indie) and Los Spätikaufens (Chile-German Flamenco & Swing). Joining them from the DJs booths are Wladimir Kaminer and Russendisko Berlin, and a few Berlin techno DJs including Sabrina Mue (of Kattermukke) and Gutter (Mandatory Records).

Besides the huge party, other happenings will include a photo exhibition, an art show, Stephan Brenn’s installation, poetry and literary performances by Genia Markova (Женя Маркова) and Dmitry Vachedin. For the lovers of “party like a Russian” style, there will be a caviar tasting experience (with Champagne but of course).

The little ones are more than welcome. During the day there will be family-friendly upcycling workshops, “Paint like Chagall” drawing, painting and art history workshop, Pelmeni cook-outs and bilingual upbringing and education discussion groups.

In parallel, social entrepreneurs and civic education experts will present their innovative projects, civic education platforms and social entrepreneurship start-ups from Berlin and Eastern Europe. The forum will conclude with the workshops on digitalization of civic sphere, media, culture of memory and right populism in Europe panel discussion.

The festival is spearheaded by a volunteer team of artists, civic activists and innovators. Your support is crucial. Even 5 euro, the price of the early bird ticket, Pelmeni workshop registration or a t-shirt purchase would help us tremendously. Let’s write Red Square into history of Berlin indie scene together!
