ALI(E/A)NSI Artist Series [ #8] 👽🌶️👽
Zoé Febvre-Utrilla aka Dolores

Zoé Febvre-Utrilla aka Dolores is an experimental musician working across sound, video and installation. A 2020 Art graduate from ENSAD Nancy, her work draws from pop, underground and internet cultures to explore how they shape us, emotionally and in terms of identity. She repurposes vocal AI, glitch, sampling and montage to expose the fragility of algorithmic and performative perfection.

Her works reflect a critical exploration of cultural appropriation, exchange and transformation. At its core, her practice is driven by a deep, almost obsessive love for fan culture — because what is music if not an elaborate form of stan behavior?

For ALI(E/A)NSI, Zoé presents Don’t Be Shy.sub, an installation entering the paradoxical intimacy of ASMR and online self-care culture. Moving between comfort and loneliness, pleasure and anxiety, the work asks what happens when intimacy, relaxation and self-care become entangled with platforms, consumption and late capitalism. A soft voice offers an escape from a world that feels too harsh — while simultaneously asking us to comment, click, like, follow, and perhaps buy the next product.

ALI(E/A)NSI Artist Series [ #7] 👽🌶️👽
Samuel Johnstone

Samuel Johnstone is a sound artist and composer based in Berlin, working at the intersection of ecological research and mixed-media composition. His practice uses sound as a tool of artistic inquiry; a way of listening into ecological spaces and the noisy, entangled ways in which human activity is embedded within them. Field recording, spatial audio and situated fieldwork are central to his work.

He is currently a doctoral candidate at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, where his artistic research project Copper Ecologies: Sounding Fields of Extraction and Advocacy develops sound as a method of ecological fieldwork. His installations and compositions have been presented at Hellerau Festspielhaus Dresden, Konzerthaus Berlin, Frequenz Festival Kiel, the Akademie der Künste Berlin and the Darmstädter Ferienkurse, and performed by ensembles including El Perro Andaluz and Ensemble UnitedBerlin.

Samuel is also a member of Moving Poets Berlin and a close neighbour of NOVILLA in Berlin-Schöneweide, making his participation in ALI(E/A)NSI part of the exhibition’s immediate local constellation.

For ALI(E/A)NSI, Samuel presents sub/Wald (field recordings) (2026), a sound installation emerging from artistic research into how field recording and immersive media can become tools for understanding forest ecologies. Developed through fieldwork in Denmark, London, Berlin and the Teutoburger Wald, the work listens closely to the forest floor, mosses and trees using contact and binaural microphones, moving between two contrasting environments: a young Norway spruce plantation and a mature European beech forest.

Sebastian Körbs
Sebastian Körbs

Sebastian Körbs is a German visual artist born in Magdeburg and based in Berlin. Working across printmaking, drawing, painting, sculpture and installation, his practice explores abstraction, ornament and the interplay between pattern and structure, increasingly moving between abstract and figurative forms. He studied Fine Arts at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig and became Meisterschüler of Prof. Bogomir Ecker in 2013. His works have been presented nationally and internationally, and he is a co-founder of Treptow-Ateliers in Berlin-Schöneweide.

For ALI(E/A)NSI, Sebastian presents Blühende Landschaften (2026), a ceramic installation responding to the promise of “blossoming landscapes” made by Chancellor Helmut Kohl in 1990 in relation to German reunification. Made entirely from unglazed clay, the work recalls the red-brown brick architecture of former industrial regions: across a strictly structured field of ceramic tiles, flowers, buds and organic forms begin to grow. What initially appears as abundance and flourishing becomes an inversion of that political promise — a landscape blooming not through economic prosperity, but where industrial production, employment and forms of social continuity have disappeared.

Pisitakun Kuantalaeng

Pisitakun Kuantalaeng (b. 1986) is a Thai multidisciplinary artist and musician based in Berlin. Working across sound, performance, video, drawing and installation, his practice examines political violence, contested histories, memory and resistance. Emerging from Thailand’s politically turbulent art scene, his work has consistently questioned who is allowed to write history and how dominant narratives can be challenged, often combining critical inquiry with music, noise, ritual and speculative forms.

For ALI(E/A)NSI, Pisitakun presents With My Own Eyes, developed in response to two book burnings he witnessed near his studio in Berlin-Schöneweide. Using fragments of the burned books that he collected and preserved, he creates five amulets inspired by the Benjapakee, a group of five highly revered Thai amulets. Each responds to a question that arose from witnessing the burnings: Who are these people? What are they afraid of? How were they raised? Do they have families? What history did they learn? Transforming remnants of destruction into objects associated with protection, courage and spiritual strength, the work turns the burned fragments into gestures of resistance and protection.

Clara Sofía Fernández


Clara Sofía Fernández is a German-Uruguayan designer, artist and researcher based in Berlin-Schöneweide. Working across experimental materials, objects and installations, her practice explores the intersections of technology, ecology and more-than-human perspectives. Through hands-on material experimentation and critical inquiry, she questions how we think about materials, spaces and the making of things, and explores how living systems can shape new forms of making and relating.

She is currently pursuing a PhD at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, researching living materials, particularly fungal mycelium, and the relationship between growth and fabrication. Alongside her research, she works as an artistic associate at weißensee kunsthochschule berlin and develops her independent artistic practice from her studio in Berlin-Schöneweide.

For ALI(E/A)NSI, Fernández presents Wetscapes (clay/water), a series of hydrographies emerging from her research into biomaterials and the complex, unpredictable interactions between living systems and their environments. Bringing soil, water, heat and organic matter into relation, the works trace the temporary encounters and entanglements between these different elements. Water appears, travels and disappears again, leaving ephemeral traces that make these relationships momentarily visible while pointing toward questions of finitude, emptiness and our responsibility within shared environments.

Asarela Orchidia Dewi - .dewi

Asarela Orchidia Dewi is an Indonesian artist and filmmaker based in Berlin. They hold a degree in Communication Design from the University of Applied Sciences Berlin.

Drawing from their nomadic upbringing, Asarela finds inspiration in the emotions of alienation and exploration. Their focus lies in exploring q***r and diasporic experiences through various mediums such as film, visual art, and performance art.

Since 2018, Asarela has worked closely with sōydivision, collaborating on video installations, performances, and interdisciplinary artistic projects. They also collaborate with Ballhaus Naunynstraße as a visual artist and director.

In 2021, Asarela wrote and directed their debut short film, Memori Dia (Their Memory), which was screened at festivals including the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival and XPOSED Q***r Film Festival.

For ALI(E/A)NSI, Asarela presents Rehearsing Becoming, a work that departs from their personal relationship with the HTW Berlin campus in Oberschöneweide, housed within the former industrial complex. Having first encountered these buildings as an international student from Indonesia, Asarela traces questions of arrival, belonging and becoming through a site shaped by different histories of labour, migration and education, bringing personal experience into conversation with the layered histories embedded in the architecture.

MyLoan Dinh MyLoan Dinh

MyLoan Dinh is a Vietnamese American multidisciplinary artist. MyLoan exhibits nationally and internationally, including the Museum of Contemporary Art, Arlington National Biennial, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans, the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, Ogden Contemporary Arts in Utah, the Santo Foundation in St. Louis, and the Urania Center for Science and Humanities in Berlin.

Her work can be found in collections in the United States and Europe, including the Muhammad Ali Museum and Center in Louisville, KY, ArtFields in Lake City, SC, the Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte, NC, and the Imago Mundi Benetton Foundation, Italy. Notable accomplishments include the Arts & Science Council Inaugural Founders Grant, NC Zeitgeist Foundation Biennial Artist, and the ArtFields 2nd Place Jury Prize. Her work has been featured in The Guardian, The Observer, The Washington Post and BBC.

Together with her husband, Till Schmidt Rimpler, she co-founded Moving Poets – Charlotte l Berlin, developing creative projects in the USA and Germany.

For ALI(E/A)NSI, MyLoan presents Boom Boom Butterfly (2019), a sculpture made from boxing gloves covered in fragments of eggshell. Moving between the Vietnamese bươm bướm (“butterfly”), the explosive English “boom,” and Muhammad Ali’s famous phrase “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee,” the work layers questions of migration and identity with histories of the Vietnam War, violence, masculinity and the fetishization of Asian women. The fragile eggshell veneer also draws from MyLoan’s latent exposure to Vietnamese sơn mài lacquer traditions, transforming an object associated with force through a slow, careful process that considers slowness itself as a decolonial strategy.

SIESTARIA — Florencia Curci & Tatiana Heuman
Florencia Curci Tatiana Heuman

Siestaria is an artistic research project exploring listening at the threshold between waking and sleep, developed by Florencia Curci and Tatiana Heuman. Working through concerts for sleeping audiences, collective siestas, installations and radio pieces, they approach rest as political and dreams as technology. The dream space is an acoustic refuge: involuntary, intimate and undisciplined.

Tatiana Heuman is an Argentinian-born, Berlin-based artist working with sound, performance and installation. Known also as Qeei, she creates affective sonic environments through improvisation, speculative fiction and vocal experimentation. Her practice investigates bodily memory, transformation and the construction of alternative imaginaries.

Florencia Curci is a sound and radio artist and curator, founder and director of the Sound Art Center of Argentina – CASo (2017–2024). Through radio experimentation and artistic research, she develops collective tools to challenge and resist dominant monoculture.

For ALI(E/A)NSI, Siestaria presents Radio Pillow, emerging from their research on radical rest and dreamlike listening. A constellation of pillows is distributed throughout NOVILLA as soft devices for receiving a radio signal carrying voices, questions and fragmentary texts. Situated at the threshold between waking and sleep, the work invites visitors to pause, listen and enter different states of attention — creating small refuges for rest and protecting the involuntary space of dreaming.
