Die Konditionen:
1. Jede der vier Künstler:innen erhält 16 Stunden kostenlose Studiozeit bei CORDILLERA im September.
2. Von den Künstler:innen wird erwartet, dass sie am 3. Oktober an einem Open Sharing zur öffentlichen Präsentation teilnehmen. Der Eintritt ist für das Publikum kostenfrei.
3. Jede Künstlerin/jeder Künstler wird gebeten, der lokalen Gemeinschaft von Oberschöneweide, wo sich CORDILLERA befindet, eine 1,5-stündige Bewegungs-, Körper- oder Tanzpraxis kostenlos anzubieten. Die Praxis sollte an einem Wochenende im September oder Oktober stattfinden.

🦙PUKLLAY • A Space for Play, Transformation and Creation
The workshop with Ximena Ameri explores alternative forms of presence and scenic composition based on the Andean concept of Pukllay, a Quechua term associated with play, festivity, transformation and, above all, collective encounter.

Through an engagement with Andean festival practices, we explore new relationships between body, memory, territory and imagination. Body memories and objects, as well as elements of Physical Theatre, improvisation and choreography, become tools for this exploration. The aim is to playfully expand the possibilities of scenic presence, explore compositional tools from decolonial perspectives, and allow new scenic narratives to emerge through play.
🪃 Open to dancers, actors, performers, body researchers and performing artists of all levels. The workshop is organised by the German-Peruvian artist collective CHICHA EXPRESS as part of the FriendsEvents series, in collaboration with CORDILLERA.
👣 XIMENA AMERI
Is a multidisciplinary performance artist whose work moves between dance theatre, performance and body-based artistic research. Her artistic practice explores migration, identity and the body as an archive of memory.
For almost two decades, she has developed an international practice between Europe and Latin America, shaped by collaborations with renowned artists and groups such as Yuyachkani, Íntegro, Alfredo Zinola and Samir Akika, as well as by her studies at the Folkwang University of the Arts, the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, the Institut Jaques-Dalcroze in Brussels and the Ruhr University Bochum.

🦙PUKLLAY • Ein Raum für Spiel, Transformation und Kreation

Der Workshop mit Ximena Ameri erforscht alternative Formen von Präsenz und szenischer Komposition ausgehend vom andinen Konzept des Pukllay, einem Quechua-Begriff, der mit Spiel, Fest, Transformation und vor allem kollektiver Begegnung verbunden ist.

Durch die Auseinandersetzung mit andinen Festpraktiken erkunden wir neue Beziehungen zwischen Körper, Erinnerung, Territorium und Imagination. Dabei kommen Körpererinnerungen und Objekte, sowie Elemente aus Physical Theatre, Improvisation und Choreografie zum Einsatz. Dabei geht es darum, die Möglichkeiten szenischer Präsenz spielerisch zu erweitern, kompositorische Werkzeuge aus dekolonialen Perspektiven zu erforschen und neue szenische Narrative durch das Spiel entstehen zu lassen.

🪃 Offen für Tänzerinnen, Schauspielerinnen, Performerinnen, Körperforscherinnen und Bühnenkünstler*innen aller Levels. Der Workshop wird organisiert vom deutsch-peruanischen Künstlerkollektiv CHICHA EXPRESS als Teil der Reihe „FriendsEvents”, in Zusammenarbeit mit CORDILLERA.
👣 XIMENA AMERI
ist multidisziplinäre Performancekünstlerin, deren Arbeit sich zwischen Tanztheater, Performance und körperbasierter künstlerischer Forschung bewegt. Ihre künstlerische Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit Migration, Identität und dem Körper als Archiv von Erinnerung. Seit fast zwei Jahrzehnten entwickelt sie ihre internationale Praxis zwischen Europa und Lateinamerika geprägt von der Zusammenarbeit mit renommierten Künstler*innen und Gruppen wie Yuyachkani, Íntegro, Alfredo Zinola und Samir Akika und ihrer Ausbildung an der Folkwang Universität der Künste, der Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, am Institut Jaques-Dalcroze in Brüssel, sowie an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum.

📢 CORDILLERA — Raum für Körper und Utopien is seeking 4 artists for an - Express Artist in Residence this SEPTEMBER!
🎟️Free of charge
🎯The deal:

1. Each of the four artists receives 16 hours of free studio time at CORDILLERA during September.

2. Artists are expected to take part in an Open Sharing for public presentation on the 3rd of October. Admission is free for the public.

3. Each artist is asked to offer a 1.5-hour movement, body, or dance practice, free of charge, to the local community of Oberschöneweide, where CORDILLERA is located. The practice should take place on a weekend in September or October.

Rooting Affections: Body, Soil & Senses < operates as a transdisciplinary sanctuary and a final open-air gathering in the garden of CORDILLERA Berlin. In a moment defined by institutional friction and spatial precarity, this curatorial frame positions the physical body not as an isolated entity, but as a porous extension of the territory it occupies. Grounded in the principles of body ecology, collective memory, and horizontal solidarity, the program brings together a series of performance researches, installations, and rituals that confront the vulnerability of both human tissue and natural ecosystems. It explores liquidity, ancestry, reproductive autonomy, and multisensory perception as active tools for resistance and structural processing.
Rooting Affections < transcends a traditional performance program; it becomes a vital exercise in radical care, proving that while a physical architecture may close, the extended, collective body woven over the last half-decade remains unyielding.

Inti Yaku stammt aus Quechua: Inti bedeutet Sonne, Yaku Wasser. Zwischen diesen beiden Kräften entsteht der Klang der Band – warm, beweglich, voller Kontraste.
Das Ensemble verbindet traditionelle ecuadorianische Musik mit einer heutigen Berliner Perspektive. Pasillo, Sanjuanito, Albazo, Pasacalle, Tonada und Yaraví klingen bei Inti Yaku nicht wie Folklore aus dem Museum, sondern wie lebendige Musik zwischen Erinnerung, Migration und Begegnung.
Gitarren, Gesang, Rondador, Streichinstrumente und Kontrabass schaffen einen Sound, in dem andine Melancholie, lateinamerikanische Leichtigkeit und urbane Gegenwart zusammenfinden. Inti Yaku ist Musik zwischen Sonne und Wasser – poetisch, rhythmisch und verbindend.

Inti Yaku brings the colors, rhythms, and stories of Ecuador to Berlin. The name comes from Quechua: Inti means sun, Yaku means water. Between these two forces, the band’s sound emerges—warm, fluid, and full of contrasts.The ensemble blends traditional Ecuadorian music with a contemporary Berlin perspective. Pasillo, Sanjuanito, Albazo, Pasacalle, Tonada, and Yaraví are not presented as museum folklore, but as living musical traditions shaped by memory, migration, and cultural encounter. Guitars, vocals, rondador, string instruments, and double bass create a soundscape where Andean melancholy, Latin American lightness, and urban modernity come together. Die Zamacueca ist ein rhythmischer, freudvoller und verspielter Tanz, der Teil der kollektiven Erinnerung afro-peruanischer Gemeinschaften ist.
Gemeinsam erkunden wir Techniken des Handpercussion, ebenso wie die Kraft, Harmonie und Ausdrucksstärke der Hüftbewegungen. Außerdem beschäftigen wir uns kreativ mit dem spielerischen und koketten Einsatz von Tüchern, einem zentralen Element dieses Tanzes.
Dieser Kurs widmet sich der Freude an Bewegung und dem gemeinsamen Feiern. Tücher werden zur Verfügung gestellt.
