To those still guarding the gates: we are not waiting outside anymore.
Theatre is not innocent. It never was. It can exclude, discipline, flatten. But it can also rupture, leak, seduce, disturb, and make room for voices that were never meant to survive your stages
Today we celebrate the artists, misfits, workers, freaks, dropouts, survivors, and troublemakers who keep forcing the form open.

Today, October 16th, 2024, we unite with artists, cultural institutions, and creatives across Berlin for the day of action.

Facing significant budget cuts, Berlin's cultural scene is coming together to make our voices heard. Cutting funds for culture is not just a financial decision—it's a cultural misstep. Although culture represents only 2.5% of the total budget, the proposed cuts would disproportionately impact countless institutions and artists, jeopardizing the very essence of what makes our Berlin unique.

As QUEERDOS Kollektiv:

🔥 We may not be state-funded
🔥 But we deeply value the diverse cultural ecosystem that public funding supports.

We invite our Q***rdos accomplices -culture makers to join in standing against these cuts to ensure Berlin remains the place for q***r art, diversity, and marginalized voices.

How can you help?

❗ Follow for updates and ways to get involved.

We’re thrilled to welcome back Cat Jones , a multi-media artist and independent curator, whose work explores self-acceptance, critique, and reflection.

Cat’s art delves into the interpersonal dialogue between the internal and external worlds, while reflecting on familial ties, corporal punishment, and (self)observation.

We had the honor of hosting Cat last summer during our curated night Saturday Night River at WHOLE Festival .festival , and we are proud to have him join us once more, officially becoming part of our dysfunctional q***rdo family.

Up next for Family Affairs: Fábio M Silva //artist emeritus// 🌟

Fábio is a conceptual post-contemporary artist, hopping between the sunny countryside of Portugal and Germany. Their work deconstructs identity, gender, and normativity—sometimes confrontational, sometimes sarcastic, and always a touch of silly drama.

Fábio has been with QUEERDOS since the very beginning, performing at QUEERDOS I (2018), QUEERDOS VI (2018), and QUEERDOS REUNITED (2019).

This Thursday, Fabio will join us through song and music from Portugal, dedicating their piece to the passing of our beloved friend and sister Aerea Negrot. 🎶💔

Next up for Family Affairs: We’re thrilled to welcome back Zain Saleh , a Syrian/Palestinian artist, writer, and playwright based in Berlin. Zain has been part of the QUEERDOS family since our HEIMAT production in 2022.

His work transcends borders, blending theatre, performance art, translation, and media, with a focus on contemporary q***r issues, activism, and cultural policies. In 2020, Zain penned his debut play, Beit Al-Sit Tahira, published by Mamdouh Adwan Publishing House.

This Thursday, his powerful voice returns to our stage.
