Raven
Wood, galvanized iron, viscose, organic feathers 250x180x30 cm
( part of the artwork - After the Rain, the Ground Was Still There)
In my work, the story of Noah’s Ark inspired me to reflect on the fragile state of our planet and the need for humanity to take responsibility for its protection. The raven, a messenger of the unknown, disappears on the horizon — a figure of doubt, forgetfulness and time that does not return. The dove returns with an olive branch, a quiet gesture of hope, pointing toward the possibility of renewal.

A-way, to feel like home.
soap, wood | H 125 x W38 x D38
All began with the announcement of the exhibition “The Gift”, organized by UDK-Berlin in collaboration with HEAD–Genève, which took place at the gallery Schau Fenster. That marked the beginning of my collaboration with Davin Gold Kim. We were in frequent communication, mostly through email exchanges. Through our conversations, I came to understand how much she misses her home in South Korea.
I haven’t been away from my own home for long, but I can feel what she feels. It takes time to begin feeling at home in a new place—to sense its warmth and familiarity, the comfort of one’s own space.
I wanted to offer her a gift—a gesture that might help her feel that warmth again, even just for a moment. So I began thinking about moments of warmth. One memory came to mind: taking a bath. You don’t bathe in just any home, but wherever you do, it brings a sense of warmth, safety, and cleanliness.
My idea began with the material of soap. That soap then transformed into a dove—a symbol of purity, beauty, and simplicity. Takes wing as the spirit of hope, herald of good tidings and emblem of peace. Its cooing, billing, and patterning are homely and companionable. An obliging creature capable of relationships with us, embodying sacred forces with which we have integral bonds.
I also made a fluffy towel, lovingly folded, to accompany this small ritual of renewal.
I would like to thank .jpg for the collaboration, and and for their support.

"Owl's skull"

The 1st Symposium of Sculpture with Recyclable Materials has come to an end. I am grateful to have met these artists and especially Konstantinos Maros, with whom we created this work. I would like to thank Theodoros Papagiannis for his invitation and Apostolis Chasiotis, the organizer of the symposium.

Our idea was to create an owl's skull. On the one hand it is the sacred animal of the goddess Athena, it symbolizes wisdom and learning. As an animal it has the ability to see in the dark. Metaphorically, this means that through knowledge, learning and education, man can see things that others cannot. On the other hand, we wanted to raise the following reflection: is knowledge and education today worthy of the place that gave birth to it, or has it remained an empty carcass?

“Dreams are never concerned with trivialities; we do not allow our sleep to be disturbed by trivial things” (Freud).
In my view, a dream can be likened to the phoenix, a mythological bird that is reborn from its ashes. When the phoenix has reached an age where renewal is desired, it surrenders to the flames, using sacred and purifying herbs such as myrrh. It is always one at a time and possesses extraordinary powers in addition to its unique ability to be immortal. Allegorically, every strong person, once they reach their turning point after difficult situations, tends to redefine themselves and return stronger.
