J.S. Bach: Goldberg Variations 7/8/9
Music connects us no matter where and what and how many. Listening, playing, dancing, composing. An old favourite that already got people through the Spanish flu (well, not all of them) are the Goldberg Variations, on this occasion played by the marvelous Tobias Feldmann, Teresa Schwamm & Arne-Chr. Pelz.
Johann Sebastian Bach
Arr. by Annette Bartholdy for string trio
Var. 7/8/9
Tobias Feldmann I violin
Teresa Schwamm I viola
Arne-Christian Pelz I violoncello
the irresistible Wiesenburg quartet during Soundcheck
And yet another short glimpse into the glamourous world of soundchecks. This time with the irressiible Wiesenburg quartet of one Shasta Ellenbogen, famed thorugh the Classical Sundays concert series. Witness them belting out an old favourite from the last century. Can you name the tune and the cheerleader who sang it?
J.S. Bach: Goldberg Variations 4/5/6
With all the excitement apout the Moon Sessions Take 2 going on, let's not forget that we still have a bunch of Videos from Take 1 to deliver. Here is the second batch of Goldberg Variations performed by
Tobias Feldmann , Teresa Schwamm and Arne-Christian Pelz.
Enjoy!
Los Pitutos during Soundcheck

LouLou - All The World Is Green
Aaaand here's another one from the Moon Sessions [take 1]: 'All The World Is Green', written by Tom Waits, performed by Lisa Ströckens and Stephan Goldbach aka LouLou.
Moon Sessions [take 2] will take place on January 24th & 25th at Clinker Lounge Concerts in Berlin. Don't miss it!
Moon Sessions Promo
Eight months after the first Moon Sessions and less than two weeks to go till chaper two. Let's have a little recap of what has happend the last time. We're pretty happy with the output but even so try to do better this time. Hope you can make it.
Felix Römer - Roundelay
Here's another one from Berlin based pianist and composer Felix Römer!
"Roundelay" is an improvisation on a poem by Samuel Beckett (1906 - 1989) that goes by the same title.
And there is more good news: we are only two weeks away from the Moon Sessions [take 2]. Check out the Facebook events and join us for some exciting live music!
Arditi/Satterwhite: Basel Airport
What better way to kick off the new decade than with a song about airports, cause flying is sooooo 90s, like, flying is bad, right, because of the environment. But maybe it's not about airports at all, but about genocide, or busking. We let you decide. Roland Satterwhite and Tal Arditii are two thirds of the Berlin Based Trio Tolyqyn and with their third third Kuba Gudz they are even groovier, as can be witnessed later this month (January 2020) at the Jazzclub Badenscher Hof. https://www.facebook.com/events/593559821429882/
NAWA - Köyde Sabah
We are so happy to round off 2019 with this wonderful song
"Köyde Sabah" by Cinüçen Tanrikorur played by NAWA Ensemble at the Moon Sessions [take 1]:
Morning in the Village, Köyde Sabah with its original title, is written for the oud (the ancient Turkish plucked string instrument) by a great Turkish composer and oud virtuoso Cinüçen Tanrikorur (Tuerkey, 1938 - 2000).
Felix Römer - Cantus Arcticus
Listen to Felix Römer and his improvisation on a theme by Einojuhani Rautavaara.
„The March“ („Suo“) / „Cantus Arcticus“ (1928–2016).
Felix born in Herne (Germany) in 1993, is a composer and pianist based in Berlin.
LouLou - Wandering Star
What better way to start the weekend than with this new live take from LouLou. Check out their version of the Portishead classic 'Wandering Star'!
NAWA - Samai Iraq
Samai Iraq is an instrumental piece from the Ottoman period. Check out NAWAs version performed at Moon Sessions [take 1].
Nawa is a cooperation of Berlin-based musicians from Palestine, Syria, Italy, Greece, Poland, US.
FF Duet - The Co***ne Drinker
Check out FF Duet performing "The Co***ne Drinker" at Moon Sessions [take 1]!
LouLou: Bei dir war es immer so schön.
Another cut from our favourite Double Bass/Soprano Duo LouLou . I could be wrong, but this might be very well be the first music video with German lyrics that I've ever edited and and I hope Stephan Goldbach can add some info about the composer, like he does during their shows, cause I didn't know this kind of music existed in Germany way back when. Also check out the new Piano Duo of Lisa Ströckens and Madoka Ito.
Jonian Ilias Kadesha: MÉNÉTRIER (George Enescu)
We have a bit of a history with Jonian Ilias Kadesha I Violin, as we worked together many times before and the final output has never been short of mesmerizing. This redition of Enescu's short piece Ménétrier (the country fiddler) is certainly no exception. While Jon Il Kad can easily captivate the audience on his own he is very prolific in various constellations. Check out the TRIO GASPARD and the CAERUS KAMMERENSEMBLE BERLIN
Victoria Priester & Roland Satterwhite: Prison Cell
Listen to this moody Version of Prison Cell. Originally done by Tolyqyn, that fantastic Power Trio where Roland Satterwhite plucks the viola and sings. On this occasion he is accompanied by Victoria Priester on the Piano. Enjoy. Tolyqyn play the Berlin circuit pretty regularly. Go check them out, they are amazing, you're gonna thank us.
Tal Arditi: Sassari
Here at Moon Sessions we don't approve of amplification. But of course, we make an exception for guitarist extraordinaire Tal Arditi from Israel playing one of his own compositions. Give it a listen, will ya .....
LouLou - Unravel (Björk)
So good, it doesn´t even need color! Watch our favorit double bass / soprano duo LouLou perform "Unravel" from Björks seminal 1997 album Homogenic.
NAWA- Zikrayati
Here's another great one from the Moon Sessions [take 1]:
"Zikrayati" by Mohammed el-Qasabgi (Egypt, 1892-1966), performed by the fantastic NAWA Ensemble.
Mohammed el-Qasabgi is regarded as one of the five leading composers of Egypt in the 20th century. "Zikrayati" means "Memories" and was originally composed as an intro for a piece by the legendary egyptian singer Oum Kalthoum and later used as his own musical piece.
Ruth Kemna: Loop
Here it is: The one and only Ruth Kemna with her solo performance LOOP. Therein Ruth combines K. Pendereckis "Cadenza" and Kurtág's Signs, Games and Messages with her own monolog and performative elements. This is so great, why aren't there more things like this around? Well, if there are, get in touch with us and be part of a future Moon Session.
ffduet - The Dream
„The Dream“ by Evi Feelippou (percussion) and Katerina Fotinaki (guitar, voice) aka FF Duet at Moon Sessions [take 1]. Enjoy!
Composition: Katerina Fotinaki
Arrangement: ff duet
Text: Poem by Dionysios Solomos
NAWA - Bint el balad
We are more than happy to share the first track from Moon Sessions [take 1] by the utterly wonderful Nawa:
Bint el balad
written by Mohammad Abdel Wahab (Egypt,1902 - 1991)
Bint el Bald was written by one of the most important egyptian composers and musicians and is an all time favorit for belly dancing!

Valentina Bellanova| ney
Nadim Sarrouh | oud
Hakam Wahbi | percussion
