Inspired by the iconic piece of classical ballet “The Dying Swan” , AL DI LÁ analyses the last moments of life as a place of sorrow and release. It is the first time that in a ballet the main topics are emotions, detaching from a virtuosic technique, exploring simple actions repeated and exposed. The performance serves as a eulogy akin to tragicomic dialogue between Death and the Knight in "The Seventh Seal." of Ingmar Bergman. Francalanci's approach to installation work stems from personal histories and the objectification of abstract feelings, contrasting natural objects with the plastic reality of contemporary life, which mirrors her performances combining classical elements with present-day references, including nods to pop culture and postmodern situations.

While the installation highlights a polarized world order, the performance is seeking for joy in hard times. Fragmented and repetitive, the performance, based on action, text, and movement, ironically examines the post-Soviet q***r experience of seeking belonging in the Western world while trying to unlearn habits acquired in the heteronormative space where survival is the primary mode.
Comprising a collection of sketches, the performance delves into themes such as transition and rebirth — transitioning from survival to living and experiencing a rebirth through confronting one's darkest aspects.
The rhythmic and repetitive performance is accompanied by a sound-scape crafted from various loops, lending it a ritualistic quality.

Caroline Beach is a German based, Texas born choreographer, performance artist and occasional musician who is best described as a cartoon artist working in the wrong medium. She has made work for a multitude of spaces including theaters, galleries, off-spaces, the Internet, and most recently, a media storage closet.  Her work is not at the intersection of anything but rather looks at practicing meaning-making in the contested space between the arbitrary and the profund, the living and the living dead.  She is interested in technology as human, the politics of nonsense, internet horror micro-genres, dance as dissociation as activation, and synthesis through pop logic.

“ALL HAIRCUTS ARE SACRED”, 2024
is a performance that offers small contracts of transformation. From its vital roots to split ends, hair encodes personal history and ferries this information between the living and the dead. A haircut then is a chore, a ritual, an indulgence, an exorcism: the necessary shedding of self. In order to address not only the physical but the spiritual accumulation of dead tissue, the hair cutters make use of a range of real and invented tools. Conversation, hair reiki, shaving sound baths, and analogue scissors can all rid one of oneself, that is, if you know how to negotiate. Both the one cutting and the one getting cut must work together as mediums in order to disentangle desire from all the other voices in the room. Looking at the undervaluing of “feminised labor” and the disparities of transactional care, this performance seeks to create a space where every gesture no matter how arbitrary could be exactly the right one, and therefore all haircuts are sacred.

SASKIA REIS

"In her recent work "BEACH", Reis approaches the poetry of "la dolce vita", which comes to life in pure perfection on a day out alla spiaggia. Through panting over images which she has been shooting in Italy for several years now, she creates abstraction from specific identities, and underlines a universal experience of relaxation, belonging, peace and beauty."

STEFANIE LOVEDAY

"Landfall, Collapse" interprets the artificial landscape of an open pit mine in Germany. It explores the temporal nature of open pit mining as a site of changing geography: the erasure of a rural town for geological mining and the renaturation of the site as a lake. Drone footage mimics the abstract landscapes documented in satellite imagery, while a virtual reality recording from Google Earth explores the same open pit mine as a glitchy digital construct.
