the montage was originally created as a reaction to the orchestrated Reichstag fire trial but the image of a corrupted Justitia becoming one with the executive branch of government is still valid today.

This is the key image of modernist photography. Only 7 vintage prints are known to exist, of which this is the only one in this smaller size. The negative was destroyed during the war. This print had been with the artist‘s assistant and his descendants for almost 100 years
