Wim Botha was born in 1974 in Pretoria and lives and works in Cape Town. He graduated from the University of Pretoria in 1996 with a BA in Fine Arts. The artist became known to a wider international audience through his exhibition in the South African country pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2013. Botha has received a number of prestigious awards, including the Standard Bank Young Artist Award 2005 and the first Tollman Award 2003.

Current solo exhibitions of the artist include Spaced Out at Gut Kerkow (Sept. 2019) and Galerie FeldbuschWiesnerRudolph Berlin (Sept. 2019). 2019) and previously the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh (2019), the Norval Foundation in Cape Town (2018/19), the Fondation Blachère in Apt, France (2016), the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Lisbon/Portugal (2014), the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown (2014), the Kunstraum Innsbruck, Austria (2013) and the Sasol Art Museum, Stellenbosch (2013). Unter dem Ausstellungstitel "The Object Remains" setzt sich die Künstlerin mit dem kolonialen Erbe Deutschlands auseinander und zeigt dazu ihren neuesten Werkkomplex fotografischer Objekte und Fotogramme.��Die Werkreihe der "Kabinette" ist gestaltet auf der Basis maßstabsgetreu verkleinerter Ausstellungsmodelle ethnographischer Museen wie dem Rautenstrauch Strauch Joest Museum (Köln), dem Weltkulturenmuseum (Frankfurt/M) u.a.. Die dreidimensionalen Modelle wurden mit flüssiger Fotoemulsion beschichtet und in der Dunkelkammer mit den Fotografien verschiedener Artefakte der Sammlungen belichtet. So schreibt sich das fotografisch dokumentierte Kulturobjekt lesbar in die Oberfläche der baukastenartigen „Foto-Skulpturen“ ein. Und zugleich repräsentiert es sich nicht nur optisch in seiner bruchstückhaften und verschobenen Zerrissenheit.

Sara-Lena Maierhofer (*1982 ) absolvierte ihr Studium an der Fachhochschule für Fotografie in Bielefeld.��Sie erhielt verschiedene Auszeichnungen wie das DAAD-Stipendium für New York (2010), den Förderpreis der Wüstenrot Stiftung (2013), das Stipendium der Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg und das Arbeitsstipendium der Stiftung Kunstfonds Bonn (beide 2015), das Jahresstipendium des Landes Niedersachsen (2017) sowie jüngst das Projektstipendium mitsamt Sammlungsankauf der DZ Bank Frankfurt/M (2018).���Sara-Lena Maierhofer´s Foto-Arbeiten sind und waren bereits in institutionellen Ausstellungen zu bewundern. Im FOAM Amsterdam (2011), im Kunstverein Friedrichshafen (2017) oder "Jungle Paintings" in De Grote Witte Reus in den Haag (2016) u.a.. Regelmässig ist die Künstlerin in thematischen Groupshows vertreten wie im Kunstverein Wolfsburg (2018), im ZKM Karlsruhe (2018), im C/O Berlin (2017), im Museum für Photographie Braunschweig (2016), in der Fotogalerie Wien (2014), in den Deichtorhallen Hamburg (2018, 2012), im Fotomuseum Winterthur (2014), auf der Mulhouse Biennale of Photography (2016) u.v.a.m..
