Im Rahmen von „Haltung üben. Bauhaus und Vielfalt“ positionieren wir uns zu den aktuellen Landtagswahlen. Wir zeigen historische Parallelen zur Bauhaus-Zeit. Unsere Verantwortung ist, vor der Verfassungsfeindlichkeit der AfD und ihrem ideologischen Kulturbegriff zu warnen.

Your Voice Counts. Elections Change Culture
As part of the “An Exercise in Defending Democracy” campaign, we are taking a stand on the current state parliament elections. We highlight historical parallels with the Bauhaus era. It is our responsibility to warn against the AfD’s anti-constitutional stance and its ideological concept of culture.

Im Rahmen des Jubiläums 100 Jahre Waldsiedlung Zehlendorf experimentieren wir mit geometrischen Formen. Dabei lernen wir die Schrift von Josef Albers kennen, die auf der Kombination der Grundformen Kreis, Viertelkreis und Quadrat basiert und drucken unsere Kreationen auf Postkarten und Plakate.

As part of the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the Waldsiedlung Zehlendorf, we are experimenting with geometric shapes. In doing so, we are learning about Josef Albers’ typeface, which is based on a combination of the basic shapes – the circle, the quarter-circle and the square – and are printing our creations on postcards and posters.

Where was the Bauhaus located?

The Bauhaus was founded in Weimar in April 1919 by Walter Gropius. After the Thuringian government drastically cut funding in 1925, the Bauhaus moved to Dessau in April 1925. In September 1932, the school was forced to close there, as well, when the N***s took control of the local council. The Bauhaus then moved to Berlin, where it was permanently disbanded in July 1933.

Die Künstlerin Kalinka Gieseler spricht über ihre Arbeit „Ohne Titel. The Value of Cleaning“, in der sie Motive aus Werken von Elsa Thiemann und Florence Henri aufgreift und mit Fragen nach Arbeit, Klassismus und der gesellschaftlichen Bedeutung von Design verbindet.

What do photographs reveal – and what do they conceal?
As part of the Long Night of Museums, this curator tour invites you to take a detective-like look at the exhibition “New Woman, New Vision. Women Photographers of the Bauhaus”.

Through a blend of staging, observation and a documentary perspective, a new insight emerges into the visual worlds of the women photographers of the Bauhaus and their role as pioneers of modern photography.

Der Bauhaus-Shop führt originale Objekte und Designprodukte im Geiste des Bauhauses. In unserer Reihe „Produkt des Monats“ stellen wir regelmäßig ausgewählte Objekte aus dem Sortiment vor.

Die Eiswürfelbox „Freeze-It“ von Rig-Tig by Stelton mit festem Kunststoffdeckel sorgt dafür, dass die Box stabil und stapelbar im Gefrierschrank steht. Die einzelnen Eiswürfel lassen sich dank des flexiblen Silikons einfach herauslösen.

Passend zu den warmen Sommertagen ist „Freeze-It“ aktuell im Bauhaus-Shop reduziert erhältlich.

The Bauhaus Shop offers original objects and design products in the spirit of Bauhaus. In our “Product of the Month” series, we regularly showcase selected items from our range.

The “Freeze-It” ice cube box from Rig-Tig by Selton, with its sturdy plastic lid, ensures that the tray stands securely and is stackable in the freezer. The individual ice cubes can be easily removed thanks to the flexible silicone.

Just in time for the warm summer days, “Freeze-It” is currently available at a reduced price at the Bauhaus Shop.

In this creative after-work workshop, designed specifically for adults, you’ll create a visual representation of your new self – inspired by the self-portraits of the women Bauhaus photographers, you’ll experiment with motifs from the exhibition and your own self-portraits. Create a collage that reveals more than just your outward appearance – the complexity of your identity, your outlook and your dreams.
