^^
Becoming the floor manager of one of Garbicz’s stages was among the biggest missions life has bestowed upon me. Production of Loco Paraiso had a strong ‘Loco’ ingredient – but over time, we slowly moved toward ‘Paraiso’ as well ☺️
Dozens of sidequests forced me into tasks I wasn’t expecting but I loved wrapping up all these missions – a refreshing contrast to the daunting big goals of the daily life.
Sometimes it felt like a circus. For two days nagging the crew to bring a truckload of bark chips – only to ask the same people to help me clean it all up right after, because the opera dancers wouldn’t perform on such surface 🤡 Gotta love the patience of all involved 🫶
Similarly to my growing involvement with LAS over the year, increased responsibilities took away a bit of the usual flavor of Garbicz, which up to a certain point was like another – and even more important – New Year’s Eve.
But I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Watching the stage take shape, seeing a beautiful space full of smiling people emerge out of all this funkiness and seeming chaos – it keeps filling me with joy and satisfaction. And the experience gained from a production like this is hard to overestimate.
I want to thank the entire Garbicz team, who welcomed me into the family with open heart and limitless understanding for all my shortcomings. It was no wonder that behind this beautiful project, there’s a group of equally beautiful people. It was an honour and a delight to get to know all of them.
Josef, Fefe, Kuba, Emi, Remi, Andrej, Osa, Mario, Kiki, Jona, Tina, Max, Pina, Ruben, Melis, Chris, Karina, Maria – at the risk of omitting someone important, I still want to shout out these superheroes. Thank you.
The crazy m**o Seba also has to be named, for keeping all those weeks in the jungle filled with laughter.
Last, but definitely not least, huge thanks to Ganna Glass, without whom I would’ve been lost many times. This is perhaps the most important lesson of production: surrounding yourself with the right people is everything.
Alles ist gut 🩵
