🌙 Lange Nacht der Museen 2026 im PalaisPopulaire

Am 29. August 2026 öffnet das PalaisPopulaire von 18 Uhr bis 2 Uhr seine Türen zur Langen Nacht der Museen. Passend zum diesjährigen Thema „Crime“ erwartet die Besucher*innen ein abwechslungsreicher Abend mit Kunst, Musik, Film und spannenden Perspektiven.

🎙️ Um 20:30 Uhr widmet sich der Live-Podcast „Copycats – Männer, die von Frauen klauen“ mit den Hosts Brit Noise und Julia Meyer-Brehm den Fragen von Urheberschaft, Anerkennung und kreativer Aneignung. Im Mittelpunkt stehen die Bauhaus-Fotografin Lucia Moholy und ein aktueller Kunstfall.

🎶 Für musikalische Highlights sorgt das Pop-Ensemble The Vocals mit einem Sunset-Konzert auf der Terrasse um 20 Uhr. Außerdem wird Nevin Aladağs Skulptur Public Resonator im Laufe des Abends mehrfach von Musiker*innen klanglich aktiviert – um 19 Uhr, 21:30 Uhr und 22:30 Uhr.

🎬 Wer zwischendurch dem Trubel entfliehen möchte, kann es sich gemütlich machen und die aktuelle Filmreihe „OnView–Transformation“ entdecken. Sie präsentiert internationale künstlerische Positionen zum Thema Wandel und Transformation. Mit Arbeiten von Lida Abdul, Vajiko Chachkhiani, VALIE EXPORT, Selma Selman, Sam Taylor-Johnson und Gernot Wieland.

🌙 Long Night of Museums 2026 at PalaisPopulaire

On August 29, 2026, PalaisPopulaire opens its doors from 6 pm to 2 am for the Long Night of Museums. Following this year’s theme “Crime,” visitors can look forward to an exciting evening of art, music, film, and thought-provoking perspectives.

🎙️ At 8:30 pm, the live podcast “Copycats – Männer, die von Frauen klauen” with hosts Brit Noise and Julia Meyer-Brehm explores questions of authorship, recognition, and creative appropriation, drawing on Bauhaus photographer Lucia Moholy and a contemporary art case.

🎶 Musical highlights include a sunset concert by the pop ensemble The Vocals on the terrace at 8 pm. Throughout the evening, Nevin Aladağ’s sculpture Public Resonator will also be sonically activated by musicians at 7 pm, 9:30 pm, and 10:30 pm.

🎬 Looking for a quieter moment? Make yourself comfortable and discover the current film series “OnView–Transformation,” featuring international artistic perspectives on change and transformation. With works by Lida Abdul, Vajiko Chachkhiani, VALIE EXPORT, Selma Selman, Sam Taylor-Johnson, and Gernot Wieland.

»OnView – Transformation«: Auftakt mit Performance

Zum Start der neuen Ausgabe der Filmreihe »OnView« laden wir zum Open House ein.

Nicht verpassen: Um 19 Uhr führt die Performerin Kyttiara ihr Stück „Metamorphose“ auf, in der sich der Körper der Künstlerin Schicht für Schicht wandelt. Die Aufführung verdeutlicht, dass stetige Veränderung Teil der menschlichen Erfahrung ist.

Zu Gast sind Autor Oswald Egger und Birte Kreft, Geschäftsführerin der Stiftung Buchkunst. Gemeinsam stellen sie Eggers prämiertes Buch „Oskar Fiala und das Prinzip der kleinsten Wirkung“ vor. Außerdem stehen Lektorin Doris Plöschberger und Herstellerin Nina Knapitsch (Suhrkamp Verlag) für Fragen aus dem Publikum zur Verfügung.

Seit 60 Jahren zeichnet die Stiftung Buchkunst jährlich 25 Werke aus, die in Konzeption, Gestaltung und Herstellung Maßstäbe setzen. Im Rahmen unserer aktuellen Ausstellung „Seeing Words, Reading Images“ sprechen wir über die Kunst des Büchermachens und die Kraft des gestalteten Buches.

For 60 years, Stiftung Buchkunst has honored 25 outstanding books each year for excellence in concept, design, and production. In connection with our current exhibition “Seeing Words, Reading Images,” we will explore the art of bookmaking and the power of design to shape the way we read and understand books.

Einweihung der neuen SculpturePopulaire: Nevin Aladağs „Public Resonator“

Wir laden herzlich zur Einweihung der neuen temporären Außenskulptur vor dem PalaisPopulaire ein. Nevin Aladağs „Public Resonator“ (2023) ist eine Skulptur als Klangkörper, die von Besucher*innen bespielt werden kann. Ihre Elemente – darunter Trommeln, Klangstäbe und Musiksaiten – fungieren als Schlaginstrumente und laden jeden ein, dem Klangkörper Musik zu entlocken und Resonanz zu erzeugen.

Am Eröffnungsabend werden Musiker*innen die Skulptur aktivieren. Die Künstlerin wird anwesend sein.

We warmly invite you to the inauguration of the new temporary outdoor sculpture in front of the PalaisPopulaire. Nevin Aladağ's "Public Resonator" (2023) is a sculpture as a sound body that can be played by visitors. Its elements – including drums, sound bars, and music strings – function as percussion instruments and invite everyone to elicit music from the sound body and create resonance.

On the opening evening, musicians will activate the sculpture. The artist will be present.
