Yesterday, our final Carte Blanche concert of this season took place at the Chamber Music Hall. 🎶🪉

The program: Enescu: Concert Piece for Viola and Piano Jongen: Aria et Polonaise op. 128 Bottesini: Gran Duo Concertante for Two Double Basses and Piano Prokofiev: 10 Piano Pieces op. 12 – No. 7 Prélude Piazzolla: Histoire du Tango

With our musicians Robyn Anderson (trombone), Arato Igaki (double bass), Jimin Jang (viola), Hyejin Kim (harp), Jona Mehlitz (flute) and Milan Thüer (double bass). Accompanied by Dina Ivanova at the piano.

We look forward to seeing you again next season at our Carte Blanche concert series. ✨

At our latest Monday Workshop, jazz cellist Stephan Braun shared practical ideas and exercises on harmony-based improvisation with our string players. Through collaborative playing and examples from popular instrumental pieces, they gained valuable insights into jazz improvisation and accompaniment. 🎻

Last Monday we welcomed Harald Eisenächer, a leading business executive, for a session on „Succes in Life and the Role of Failures“. He and the scholarship holders discussed what success means, shared perspectives on different areas of life in addition to their musical profession and reflected on personal growth. 🌱💡🙌

This Monday’s Yoga Workshop with Lene Skomedal ✨🧘‍♀️🎶

As a trained horn player and yoga teacher, Lene Skomedal shared effective sequences of yoga, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques that can be directly applied to instrumental playing.

Our musicians performed a program of French chamber music in the first half of the Karajan-Akademie concert with Kirill Petrenko on May 13:

Claude Debussy: String Quartet in G minor Jacques Ibert: Trois Pièces brèves for wind quintet Maurice Ravel: Introduction et Allegro for harp, flute, clarinet and string quartet

Kirill Petrenko conducts the Karajan-Akademie 🎶

Our concert on May 13 featured chamber music by French composers such as Debussy and Ravel, alongside Schubert’s Symphony No. 4 in C minor — a work written by the composer at just 19 years old and now performed by the young musicians of the Karajan-Akademie.
