Winner of the 2026 Deutscher Jazzpreis, yonglee & the DOLTANG is a group of improvisational musicians with rocker DNA, recognized in Korea and beyond for its bold, genre-blurring sound. Led by pianist and composer Yonglee, the ensemble satirically probes the desires and absurdities of modern life, fusing structural elegance with emotionally charged spontaneity while balancing complexity and directness.
Blending rock, pop, contemporary jazz, free improvisation, and electronic experimentation, the band creates immersive sonic landscapes driven by layered rhythms and raw intensity. Formed in Seoul by five musicians once scattered across the globe, they channel the tension between artistic aspiration and modern labor into fiercely original work, including their debut album Invisible Worker, a powerful reflection on creativity, identity, and survival in today’s world.

Der lange Schatten ist ein Berliner Trio, das seit 2009 gemeinsam die Möglichkeiten improvisierter Musik erforscht. Mit Klavier, Klarinette und Kontrabass entstehen transparente Klangräume zwischen Kammermusik, freier Improvisation und abstrakten Soundlandschaften.

Das Ensemble spielte auf Festivals und Bühnen in ganz Europa sowie auf einer USA-Tour des Goethe-Instituts. Im September 2025 nahm das Trio ein neues Album auf, das im kommenden Herbst erscheinen wird.

Bei PANDA präsentieren Håvard Wiik, Michael Thieke und Antonio Borghini bereits erste Stücke aus dieser neuen Veröffentlichung.

Drei herausragende Persönlichkeiten der improvisierten Musik treffen bei PANDAJAZZ aufeinander.

Die Cellistin, Performerin und Komponistin Ulrike Brand entwickelt seit Jahrzehnten ihre eigene Klangsprache zwischen Improvisation, Komposition und Performance-Kunst und lehrt seit 2018 Improvisation an der UdK Berlin.

Der Gitarrist Olaf Rupp zählt zu den wichtigsten Stimmen der improvisierten Musik und arbeitete mit Künstlern wie John Zorn, Peter Brötzmann und Paul Lovens zusammen. Seine Musik bewegt sich zwischen feinsten Klangfarben und radikaler Ausdruckskraft.

Der in Berlin lebende Pianist und Komponist Roman Stolyar, eine Schlüsselfigur der russischen Improvisationsszene, konzertierte bereits in 27 Ländern und gilt als international renommierter Improvisationspädagoge.

Ein Abend voller freier Improvisation, intensiver Klangwelten und musikalischer Begegnungen.
