In 1884 Grieg composed a suite in Baroque style on the occasion of the 200th birthday of the poet Ludvig Holberg, who was very well-known in Norway. Taking inspiration from Holberg’s time there are dances and forms from Baroque music here - Präludium, Sarabande, Gavotte, Air and Rigaudon. But they are combined with the melodic and harmonic language of the 19th century, and with Grieg’s characteristic compositional style. In this way the music achieves the charming mix that is the reason for its popularity.

AMOROSO . ENIGMATIC . DRAMA TRILOGY
The three compositions by Melina Paxinos Music, titled "Amoroso," "Enigmatic," and "Drama Theme," will be part of her new orchestral album entitled "Amoroso". This year, they will be released alongside additional compositions as a cinematic neo-classical EP. The EP reflects the diverse combination of instruments, ranging from strings and woodwinds to harp, synthesizer, and vibraphone, suggesting a rich and varied musical experience, all within an amorous context.

On International Women’s Day, which is celebrated every year on March 8th, the Camerata Europæa cooperates with different partners in portraying women artists from different European countries. The aim of this concert series is to draw attention to the status of women in the musical structures of society, thereby adding a cultural constant to the political aspect of International Women’s Day.
