Various scientific studies carried out in recent years, state that the hormone melatonin, secreted by our brain (in particular by the pineal gland, which also produces serotonin aka the "happiness hormone"), can have great antioxidant and anti-ageing power on our organism. This process is especially taking place during the night when we sleep.
It is possible that melatonin is not only the hormone involved in promoting sleep and rest but a very powerful weapon in helping our immune response, fighting inflammation and oxidative stress.

Foods rich in melatonin or melatonin precursors such as tryptophan and vitamin B6:

Foods rich in melatonin: oats, cherries, corn, red wine, tomatoes, potatoes, nuts, bananas, mustard, goji berries, olives, coriander and fennel. 🍒🌽🍎🥔🍷🍌

Foods rich in tryptophan: tofu, almonds, pumpkin seeds, sesame, milk.🥛🎃

1- Keep yourself well hydrated: To stay properly hydrated it is recommended to spread out your water intake in 10-12 glasses throughout your day; especially before, during and after exercising.

2- A balanced diet: While increasing your intake of protein and carbohydrates is recommended, your diet should be low in saturated fats. Foods high in saturated fats, such as butter, margarine, mayonnaise or sausages, should be avoided. Fried or oil-rich foods are also not recommended.

3- Foods should be consumed between 2 and 2.5 hours before training. They should also be eaten spaced out and spread over five meals throughout the day: three main meals and two snacks.

4- A regular sleep rhythm is vital: It is advisable to sleep eight or more hours a day. It is beneficial to take a short nap after eating (no more than 15 minutes). Likewise, after intense training and sporting competition, it is advisable to rest for 30 to 60 minutes.

5- Stretching should be done 5 minutes before physical activity, to prepare the muscles for the action ahead.

6- It is beneficial to create a training pattern during your week. Training on specific days, at specific times every week will allow your body to get used to these consecutive sessions and help your metabolism adapt to an active lifestyle.

What you do in the morning as soon as you get up determines (probably much more than you think) what your day will be like. Here are the morning habits that we all should start putting into practice:

- Leave the phone outside the room at night. 📱
- Waking up with natural light to gradually stimulate cortisol degradation. ☀️
- Spend just the right time on "getting out of bed". 🛏️
- Try to turn off the alarm clock only once. ⏰
- Three slow, deep breaths through the nose before getting up to send oxygen to the brain and body, so that it is activated. 🧘

Did you know that the human brain is designed to seek absolute harmony and each of its neurons has a rhythm? 🧠 Human beings can achieve synchronicity by placing themselves in the place of someone else’s. The brain has what are called mirror neurons that allow it to enter synchrony and respond to external or internal stimuli, as well as to feel empathy, to hear a melody, some harmonies or to carry out the movements that it observes. Another key is the practice and the activity of the frontal lobe, in particular, that allows automating the rhythm.
Audiences just as well enter this practice of synchronicity when watching a dance show, which causes an innate level of joy they are experiencing.
