Today at 6:00 PM join us at 68projects and have a look on the fascinating works by artist Oliver Westerbarkey.
The work is neither a true representation of nature nor even a complete falsification. The artistic approach is that of questioning and ambiguity, the truth of the work is within the interpretation of each viewer.

GALERIE KORNFELD

GALERIE KORNFELD presents in ART021 Shanghai 2019 ART021 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair the works of gallery artists Nick Dawes, Robert Fry, Tamara Kvesitadze and Hubert Scheibl showcasing the diversity and scope of our programme.

Each artist is interested in how works of art are able to create an atmosphere so touching and mesmerising that they overcome classical narrations of the mediums in which they work.

Join us today for a duo presentation featuring Los Angeles artist Michael John Kelly and New York artist Rachel E. Williams, in cooperation with Villa Aurora & Thomas Mann House e. V.

Kelly's large-scale paintings and drawings as well as William's object-like works were all created during their stay in Berlin as part of our residency program. The exhibition provides an insight into the artists' practices and a unique reflection on the influences their stay in Berlin had on their work.

Don't miss Cristian BanBan's first solo presentation in Germany at 68projects following a residency she had in Berlin in October 2018. The exhibition is on until June 22! Check out this great review in Berlin Art Link by #maryalexander for an insight into her marvellous voluptuous women and autobiographical narratives.

Cristina BanBan’s fleshy and ambitious series of paintings and drawings make “big” unapologetically beautiful.

HOTEL EUROPA is an ongoing international curatorial project that was founded by Théo-Mario Coppola in 2017. The third collective chapter will be hosted in Tbilisi, Georgia in 2019.

"Here’s some numbers: 14 out of 50; 12 out of 41; 16 to 3. I wish I just made these up, but these are the actual numbers for the Gallery Weekend in Berlin two weeks ago....Apart from the Gallery Weekend happening, another reason I went to Berlin was to attend the opening of the exhibition at GALERIE KORNFELD, which is Susanne Roewer 's gallery...
Galerie Kornfeld and their project space, 68projects, are worth an honorary mention: their numbers look as follows: 2 to 1. That is 66.66% women to 33.33% men, if you were wondering. Of course these numbers are too small to be comparative, but it is important to celebrate the small successes and as I said in the beginning: let’s celebrate what's here, not nag about what's missing."
We are honored to be mentioned in such a great set up of strong female positions at this year's edition of Berlin Gallery Weekend by She Performs.
Susanne Roewer & Nick Dawes: Sculptures and Paintings and Cristina BanBan: I've got nothing else to lose will both be on view until 22 June 2019. Find out more about our current exhibitions under the following link.
