Language as a perfect playground of desires. Abandoning your best-known playground is similar to abandoning the most faithful picture of yourself. Maybe we are just witnessing the change?

A man dreams with his whole being his entire life. Having come into the world, he invades the harmony of silence and then wages a war against speechlessness, in a face-off with the mother tongue.

In Be(tween)aches of Berlin is a collection of six poetical digital stories devoted to the experience of the diversity and research of poetics of space. Stories are focused on questioning the places of belonging and the state of in-between. This is a poetical approach to personal experience transformed into an artistic project by digital storyteller Tina Bikic, using digital storytelling, experimental narrative, visual arts, and contemporary dance movement.

About AVE MONSTRUM's residency - Spazio Fattoria:

"After months of suspension, coming back to the "productive" body was not a possible step. But it's been a timid and tenacious opportunity to regain the pleasure of feeling through the body what I've been researching about in these past months: images, concepts and thoughts that now can flow freely. It has been fundamental listening to that flow and let it take a shape, while keeping my expectations silent. A lot of images showed to me in a dreamlike dimension and lead my work in the real world: the indefinite wandering, the exile and the bewilderment, the ritual as a magical act, a misteryous and ancient Faith. The genesis originates from the shapeless, birth's beneficial curse, the religious dogma of the resurrection." Chiara Ameglio

The best part of being in love with an artist is witnessing their creative process.💜

We are in the process of making omnibus film ''In be(tween)eaches of Berlin'', consisting of 6 short films, where we want to explore - what makes people feel like home. I decided for waters as starting point to make a link to my home (town). As I sometimes live more in my inner world - I would say that my home is always in between ''here and there''. In my dreams there were always surreal scenes like this - like I created a home on my own. That would be my imaginary home and in the arts - we can make it happen. Main role of our six films is a woman, both swimmer and dancer - futuristic character, almost like fictional superhero. Challenging herself through swimming and contemporary dance she will explain us different set of emotions presenting in the same time time - poetics of space.

During #DigitalStoriesWorkshop I discovered that many of the participants would say: ''I really dont have a story to tell''. Then we try to find the ways in order to inspire and encourage them to tell their own -personal story. During that time I discovered the ''Whats your story?'' - beautifully designed card game by Corban and Blair, company from Australia and Holly Reynolds from Left Field Communications . They said on their website that ''What's your story?'' is an entertaing way to turn memories, experiences, moments and milestones into stories to share with family and friends. I discovered them while I was researching the internet and I decided to write to them. Spontaneously, sharing my story - I got their story back, it is always happening mutually. Along with the cardgame which came directly to my home address in Berlin from faraway Australia, I got handwritten email - emotion shared on piece of papper. (I thought how beautiful it is that someone is writing you a real letter in this digital times). Secret of the cards was revealed. At that moment I knew that great big ideas and things are always invented by great minds. We just have to be open and share our passions and inspirations, sometimes hidden deep inside. I wanted to thank Corban and Blair and Holly Reynolds from Left Field Communications for inventing this amazing cards and everyone else who is interested for more info, I warmly recommend their website for more info. #whatsyourstory #corbanandblair #leftfieldcommunications #DigitalStoriesBerlin

#DigitalStoriesBerlin Special Summer Workshop in Croatia

While on summer holidays we have found time for introductory workshop to digital storytelling, which took place in picturesque town Orebic, situated in Peljesac Peninsula in Croatia. This workshop was established in cooperation with Mrs Natasa Tolj, library director, who we were thankful for helping us organize this workshop. Our participants were students from 3rd to 7th grade. They learned what is digital storytelling, types of digital stories, they wrote their first digital story which afterwards they shared in story-circle. We were very happy for having this opportunity and such an inspiring and emotional stories that we heard. This is truly one great summer memory! 🎈

#DigitalStoriesBerlin Adult Education training session at @mitost_ev | Yesterday we hold training for professionals from non-profit and art sector, who want to implement digital storytelling, as innovative tool in promoting their work. Training was focused on how to tell a personal story about your institution/organization/company which can be tomorrow's modern promotional video which will bring you more closer to your audience and members. Working in arts and non/profit sector daily we are creating new meanings and hopefully, witnessing - new values. Driven by the catchword that value is something that connect our emotions to our purposes, we have the clear definition of how to tell in the same time personal narrative story but also inform viewer about our institution or work. Digital storytelling is perfect tool for this because sharing digital story you are not sharing facts, you are sharing the emotion. And before establishing our connection, there must be recognition, recognition in passion that we both share. I would like to thank all the participants, and mrs Laura Werling from Mitost e.V. who organized and host us for this training session. #DigitalStoriesBerlin #Mediagrammi #innovativeeducation #mitost

First we open the window and then we find our door, yes, those are the right one. With this sentence we could explain the process of gathering the visual and audio material for our digital story. This is the “stuff” that makes magic happen and writing come alive. Our students were using their storyboard as a guide and gather images, audio and video. Everything they choose will impact and set the tone for their digital story. At the same moment our students are creating the atmosphere of their digital story, but still very observant in taking care of Copyright, Fair Use, and Creative Commons.#DigitalStoriesBerlin #Mediagrammi #innovativeeducation

How to write a short (life) story which will describe fragments of spatialised memory of everyday life? It's actually just one of the virtuosity you overcome in the process of digital storytelling. What exactly to take from that specific personal experience? Not easy, our students admit it. Before searching for photos and visual material - there is always writing. There are many helpful resources for students, and Ohler and Dillingham’s Visual Portrait of a Story, (as shown at one of our photos) is part of a detailed description of story elements that can be helpful to students as they construct their own stories. #DigitalStoriesBerlin #Mediagrammi #innovativeeducation

To board or to storyboard? ;) We storyboarded to Käthe Kollwitz Gymnasium and hold another #DigitalStoriesBerlin workshop. A storyboard is a written or graphical representation of the all of the elements that will be included in a digital story, such as images, text, narration, music, transitions. Storyboarding allows the user to visualize how the project will be put together and help illustrate what holes exist since they can see the entire plan laid out in front of them. #DigitalStoriesBerlin #Mediagrammi #innovativeeducation #berlin

Today we are talking about a personal tale which reveals a small truth, yes digital story! But, what form should your story take? Main varieties of digital stories will be: the story about someone important, the story about an event in your life, accomplishment stories, the story about a place in your life, the story about what you do, recovery stories, love stories, discovery stories... Main important thing is that this is only your story! You are the author and you are that powerful unique voice! #DigitalStoriesBerlin workshops continues in Carl von Ossietzky Gymnasium, and our participants decides for different form of digital stories. We already write our scripts and we are ready for gathering visual and audio material - we are ready for gathering the memories! #DigitalStoriesBerlin #innovativeeducation #mediagrammi #berlingram #digitalstorytelling #berlin #berlincity #berlinstyle #berlintagundnacht #berlin🇩🇪 #berlinblog #berlinphotography #berlinblogger #berlinberlin #berlin365 #berlinstreets #berlino #berlincalling #berliner #berlinstagram #berlinart #berlinlebt #berlindiaries #berlinartist #morethanonestory #awesomeberlin #loveberlin #diestadtberlin #bestofberlin #weloveberlin #berliner

But why we really really like creating digital stories? Can we deepen our connections with the others in process of sharing our thoughts, experiences, feelings? Digital storytelling is definitely about creating new meanings. We started our #DigitalStoriesBerlin workshops today in Carl von Ossietzky Gymnasium with 8th grade and great support of their teacher Mrs Katrin Weller. On every workshop there is a challenge when the person is unsure on which story to tell. What we are doing then? I was happy today to introduce to youngsters this valuable tool More Than One Story. More Than One Story is a unique and powerful card game which builds bridges between people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures. Developed by the youth and the Department of Culture and Leisure of the Municipality of Simrishamn in Sweden. The card game has been used by over one million people in over 25 languages around the world. When we think that we don't have any story to tell, then I use this card game in order to facilitate the process of opening hearts and minds. #DigitalStoriesBerlin #innovativeeducation #mediagrammi @ Carl-von-Ossietzky-Gymnasium

We believe that in diversity of our personal stories is the uniqueness of Berlin. #DigitalStoriesBerlin Workshops started yesterday in Leibniz Gymnasium, with 11th grade students and with support and understanding of their English teacher Mr Germar Kriesing who has shown interest for our project. Believing that the strength of Berlin consists in its young people and creative expression of their thoughts, hopes, fears, inspirations and loves, we decide to focus on personal narrative as an main genre of their digital stories. Personal narratives are typically short videos about 3-5 minutes long, about a person, place, or an event in the author’s life and focusing on the moment of transformation and resolution. #DigitalStoriesBerlin #innovativeeducation #Berlin

Story circles use the age-old tradition of storytelling as a way to help participants develop, clarify, or structure the digital story. In this supportive group environment, people sit in a circle and present their story ideas, including their script and images. Having individuals share personal stories within a group process gives everyone the opportunity to explore a range of ideas, learn from each other, polish their ideas and get feedback. In digital storytelling learning experience, story circles are the most important part in creating effective and meaningful digital work. #DigitalStoriesBerlin #innovativeeducation #mediagrammi #Berlin

Everyone has a story to tell. Friday 10th of May we had our first workshop session in Käthe-Kollwitz-Gymnasium where we introduce #DigitalStoriesBerlin project to the youngsters of 10th grade. Mrs Anne Perick and Mr Leo Stenzhorn recognize our project as valuable because digital storytelling its not just gaining digital skills - its more about helping youngsters to express their personal stories in most creative way. We would like to thank them for helping out in organizing this workshop session in their school. We can see how digital storytelling is shaping bravely a model for the future education.
