The 3rd ENCUENTRO Latinoamericano de Performance Art will take place in the city of Berlin from July 3rd to 6th, 2025. In its third consecutive year, the non-for-profit art gallery and creative center, Organ Kritischer Kunst (OKK) in collaboration with the artist, Hector Canonge, brings together a group of Latin American performance artists who have been living and working in various countries in Europe. The initiative created by Canonge and hosted by OKK since 2023 aims to forge stronger connections among participating artists and their homologues in Berlin, and elsewhere.
Despite the challenges of creating a non-funded project, and volunteering to undertake such a demanding enterprise since 2023, Canonge and OKK’s founder and director, Pablo Herrmann, have continue the efforts to sustain a program devoid of any institutional or government support, or commercial monetary exchange. On the other hand, participating artists not only contribute with the presentation of their work but are self-funded in their efforts to create and sustain a vibrant and networked Latin American presence in Europe. The ENCUENTRO is not just a festival but it has been created as a hub to stimulate the much needed dialogue about Performance Art and its various modalities of creation and presentation.
For its third edition, confirmed selected participants are:
Giovanna Araujo da Silva (Brazil / Germany)
Sergio Camilo Salazar Sierra (Colombia / Spain)
Miiel de la Mora (Mexico / Germany)
Maria Gray (Venezuela / Spain)
Wilson Tapia (Bolivia / France )
Wingel Mendoza (Mexico / Germany)
The 3rd ENCUENTRO will premier on Thursday, July 3rd, 7:30 pm and continue through Sunday, July 6th at OKK (Prinzenallee 29). A public intervention scheduled for Saturday, July 5th will take place at the iconic Tempelhof Airport in Berlin.
We look forward to seeing you at the opening:
