Still trying to process this ❤🤯
One week after playing at Rave The Planet, I still can’t believe this happened: one of my biggest dream came true…but it started with every DJ‘s nightmare. 🎧
I had tested all USB sticks beforehand. But once I was behind the decks, error messages appeared and around two-thirds of my tracks didn’t load. So I improvised with whatever was available, restarted the players whenever I could and tried not to show how fast my heart was beating.
Luckily, the crowd was having a much better time than I was at that point 😄 Nobody seemed to realize what was going on. After a few restarts, the tracks finally started loading again. I looked up from the screens: my friends were dancing below and beside me. Everywhere someone was smiling back at me… And there was Berlin moving past us, with more than 300,000 people raving united in the streets.
Maybe that’s why I’m not only proud of having played at such an iconic event, but also that I kept going when things went wrong. It showed me that something doesn’t have to be flawless to become so beautiful. 🫶🏼
Having the right people around me also made a huge difference: thank you droomschipp for having me and for the incredible amount of work you put into this float. Thank you to this wonderful crew, all the DJs and artists on board, my friends who joined me and everyone who danced with us through Berlin.
The error messages have disappeared. The pride and the goosebumps haven’t. 🥹
