Do you know what day today is?🤔

Apart from the fact that today is a first day of October, today is also an International Music Day or World Music Day!!!🎵🎶🥳

Didn’t know it exist?
Well, it does. And International Music day was initiated on the 1st of October in 1975 by Lord Yehudi Menuhin, American violinist and conductor, and first organized by International Music Council.

The International Music Council, on the other hand, is the network of organizations and people working in music who encourage and foster musical diversity, and access to
culture for everyone.🤩🤩🤩

The aim of this day is to create a global atmosphere of music, a platform for people to come together with their diversities and combine altogether to make it one unified whole.

On this day the International Music Council proposes that each country should maintain a few moments of silence in order to listen to music played in their cities.

We also encourage you to listen to some good music today on this occasion!🎉

FUN FACT:

Besides our normal events and concerts, we hosted the Formula E E-Prix, the electric version of Formula 1, several times. 🏁🏁

The circuit has a length of 2.3km around the old airport's runways. 🛬🛬

The circus of the Formula E saw the venue of Berlin-Tempelhof in 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
The 2020 edition held 6 races in 8 days to finish off the disturbed season, caused by the pandemic. Tempelhof being the perfect venue to hold numerous races in such a short timeline !

The different races saw drivers such as Félix da Costa, Jérôme d'Ambrosio and Jean-Eric Vergne win the E-Prix. 🏎🎉🔝

A little moment for history ? 📕⏱
Let's explore the past of the former airport of Berlin-Tempelhof... ✈️✈️

The airport was build in 1923 and was the first of Berlin's three airports (Tempelhof, Tegel, Schönfeld). Between 1936 and 1941, the airport was made bigger to host more planes and visitors.
Between 1948 and 1949, during the Blocus of Berlin by the soviets, this airport was used to make West-force's planes land in the city to provide food and water for inhabitants in West-Berlin.
During the time Berlin was cut in half, the airport knew its attendance peak in the early 1970's, making the transport of people from the west side of the city to West-Germany easier.
However in 1975, Americans and Brits started using the airport of Tegel more and more, leaving Tempelhof for the use to the american army.
The airport's attendance never rose up to its peak in the early 70's again and decreased until 2008, when it closed.
The loss in the last 10 years was estimated around 115 millions €.

INTERESTING FACTS 🛬🛫:

The airport hall and hangars are the 3rd biggest building in floor area in the world, behind the Pentagon in Washington D.C. and the Parlament Palace in Bucarest.

The initial plan was to make the airport and the buildings in the surrounding look like an eagle, symbol of Germany.

In one of warm days of June, 1933 in Camden, New Jersey motorists park their automobiles on the grounds of Park-In Theaters. This is where all begins.

This year brought us a lot of surprises, including the total ban of both indoor and outdoor events. No time to get upset, because we are bringing both cinemas and concerts just the way you like-car cinemas and car concerts and a lot of fun and joy!🍿🎶
