Nearly 700 music lovers filled the UdK Concert Hall for an unforgettable finale to FIMA 2026 ✨💜

For one last evening, our participants joined the incredible Camerata Fiestravaganza under the direction of Evan-Alexis Christ to celebrate ten days of learning, collaboration and music-making together.

The program spanned over two centuries of concerto repertoire: From the elegance of Haydn and Hoffmeister, through the timeless brilliance of Mozart and Beethoven, to the romantic lyricism of Schumann and Chopin. With ten outstanding soloists representing nine different countries, the concert showcased not only remarkable artistry, but also the international spirit that defines FIMA. 🌍

A big thank you to our lecturers, coaches, orchestra musicians, volunteers, partners & audience for making our 4th edition the most memorable one yet. Your applause, encouragement and generosity made this the perfect conclusion! 😍

Stay tuned, we’ll soon be posting reels with moments from all concerts, and we can’t wait to share more with you!

A memorable evening of extraordinary solo performances at the FIMA 2026 Solo Recital. 🎻🎹

From Bach and Haydn to Chopin, Liszt, Brahms, Fauré and Fazıl Say, our participants presented a wonderfully diverse programme, showcasing not only remarkable technical ability, but also their unique musical voices. It was inspiring to see each performer take the stage with such confidence and artistry after an intensive week of lessons and preparation.

A heartfelt thank you to C. Bechstein for providing the magnificent Bechstein D 282 Concert Grand, which gave our participants the opportunity to perform on a truly world-class instrument. 💜

To conclude the evening, all FIMA 2026 participants were invited back on stage to receive their Certificates of Participation, celebrating their hard work, dedication, and unforgettable journey together in Berlin. 🫶🏻

Throwback to our Chamber Music Concert on the 28th! 🎻🎹

Our incredible string coaches – Prof. Gregor Sigl, 𝙲𝚑𝚊𝚛𝚕𝚘𝚝𝚝𝚎 𝚃𝚑𝚒𝚎𝚕𝚎, Karolina Pawul and Oliwia Meiser – spent the week working intensively with the String & Piano Participants of FIMA 2026, preparing an exciting program of chamber music featuring works by Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Saint-Saëns and Schumann.

The evening opened with a special performance of Mozart’s String Quintet No. 2, performed by our violin, viola and cello participants in an arrangement by ᴡɪɴᴄʏ🕸. Audiences also enjoyed a wide variety of duos, trios, and quartets with our lecturers performing alongside participants throughout the concert.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this project was seeing so many of our participants discover the joy of chamber music for the very first time. For many, this was their first experience rehearsing and performing in an ensemble, learning to listen, communicate and make music together beyond their solo studies. Watching these collaborations grow over the course of just one week was truly inspiring. 🧡

Congratulations to all our participants and a huge thank you to our wonderful coaches for their dedication, patience and artistry throughout the week!

🎉 Welcome to the Fiestravaganza International Music Academy 2026!

FIMA 2026 officially began with smiles, snacks, introductions, and plenty of new faces as we welcomed this year’s participants to Berlin! 💜

Joining us for this year’s academy are Prof. Lucas Blondeel, Prof. Christian Petersen, and Prof. Gregor Sigl, together with our string coaches 𝙲𝚑𝚊𝚛𝚕𝚘𝚝𝚝𝚎 𝚃𝚑𝚒𝚎𝚕𝚎, Oliwia Meiser and Karolina Pawul. The Welcome Ceremony gave everyone the chance to meet, connect, and settle into the week ahead in a relaxed atmosphere.

Just like last year, the day continued with a special workshop led by Lucas Blondeel, taking us into the fascinating world of Bechstein’s unique collection of vintage keyboard instruments: exploring their history, character, and sound firsthand. 🎹✨

A big thank you to our project coordinator Yanitza Marimon Garcia and our wonderful helpers Luis Däumler, Yuqing Liu and for keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes! 😍

And with that, FIMA 2026 was underway. Two weeks of music, new friendships, inspiring lessons, and unforgettable performances ahead. 💜

What an incredible start to FIMA 2026! 🎶

This year’s Opening Gala brought the UdK Konzertsaal to life with an evening dedicated to some of the great Romantics: Beethoven, Chopin, Bruch, Saint-Saëns, Massenet and Rachmaninov. ✨

Under the baton of Evan-Alexis Christ, the Camerata Fiestravaganza opened the evening with performing the first movement of Beethoven’s monumental 5th Piano Concerto.

We then journeyed through Chopin’s 1st Piano Concerto with Xinni He taking on the fiery first and third movements, and Leo Denizen bringing us the beautiful second movement.

After the intermission, our string players took center stage, marking a particularly special moment for FIMA as strings become a full part of the academy this year. Cai Liang performed Bruch’s Romance for Viola and Orchestra, followed by Raphael Tan with the first movement of Saint-Saëns’ 3rd Violin Concerto and Pin Sheng Lu with Massenet’s Méditation from Thaïs. 🎻

To close the evening, FIMA’s Artistic Director Shaun Choo joined the Camerata for Rachmaninov’s iconic 2nd Piano Concerto - bringing the gala to an unforgettable end and the entire hall to its feet for a standing ovation. 🎹🔥

A huge thank you to everyone who came, to our wonderful musicians, and to everyone behind the scenes who made this Opening Gala possible. 💜
