🏛️ CLASH Rome Berlin: the sixth edition of CLASH lands in Rome for the first time featuring Studio Orma !

We think the best way to discover art is still to go out and meet it in person.

👥 CLASH is built around direct exchange instead: you travel, meet people, walk into unfamiliar spaces and find work you would never come across through the usual channels.

The artists make the journey themselves, bring their works with them and spend time in the city. Three artists from BcmA team invited three italian artists to join them.

CLASH is an exhibition format created by Ricardo de Larrea (Ricardo de Larrea Remiro ), founder of BcmA. It connects artists and independent art spaces across cities. After editions with Madrid and Valencia, this year edition is partnered with Studio ORMA, an independent exhibition space and curatorial project in Rome.

She is ROSE “THE BOSS” EKEN, and she is joining the SCULPTURE SIDE!

🥊 Rose Eken (Rose Eken) works with a distinctive sensitivity to the traces left behind by people and cultures. Her practice moves across sculpture, installation and ceramic painting. It all started with the remnants of Copenhagen punk concerts, which she helped clean up after as a teenager: cigarette butts, b**r cans and forgotten phones became symbols of the energy and community of punk culture. Today she recreates overlooked everyday objects in detail, preserving the fleeting and informal as cultural-historical relics.

He is NICHOLAS “METAL HANDS” KASHIAN (Nicholas Kashian), and he is joining the PAINTING SIDE!

🥊 Nicholas Kashian is a sworn enemy of sculpture- his practice centres therefore on painting, specifically exploring
how collage and its spatial relationships cais work considers how fragments, overlappingand shifts in scale construct space within a painted surface. In Painting vs Sculpture, this focus opens a dialogue
between the flatness of the image and the sesence that painting can create.

🥊 “I enjoy working with references because I believe that everything points to something that already exists anyway. So why not engage with this consciously?

In the Chimney series, I examine the relationship between “talking heads” and “laboring bodies”—a distinction rooted in Marxism. Both poles are linked by the propig. The brick chimneys also allude to Herman Melville’s Bartleby, the Scrivener (1853), a story about refusal within capitalist relations of production; the walls
and barriers that recur in that narrative ar

However, the chimneys can also be interpreteformally, they are positioned where the brain would normally be, thereby replacing or extending the head. Thinking thus appears not as a free act, but as something
industrialized and functionalized.

The pig serves as a surface for projection, ol of production. It is through the productthat “talking heads” and “laboring bodies” enter into a relationship—a system in which connections are mediated by commodities. Unlike Bartleby, however, the premains deliberately ambivalent: it isneither clearly a victim nor a beneficiary, neither purely a commodity nor merely an animal. Ultimately, in figures such as the “Pig Princess,” the boundaries bd the exploited become blurred.”

🥊 Paula Franco (Brazil, 2003) is an emerging artist whose practice has developed within the context of her academic training in Portugal. Through acrylics panting she creates illustrations in which she builds a painterly realm. Her works explore themes of memory, isolation and girlhood, bringing characters and their stories to life.

‼️ BcmA presents you a battle between two of the most debated forms of Fine Arts, and only one will emerge as the winner: Painting or Sculpture.
