NYC artists + makers, we’re asking for your help ❤️‍🩹

In response to the recent earthquakes affecting communities in Colombia and Venezuela, we’re organizing an art raffle to raise funds for those impacted.

We’re currently looking for artists and makers willing to donate a piece of work to the raffle.

100% of proceeds will be donated, with funds collected by LiberArte , a nonprofit connected to communities in Chocó, Colombia.

It was so lovely to interview my dear angel friend ⋆ 🤍

We first connected through Instagram a few years before we actually met. I had been following her work because I loved the worlds she was creating through her paintings and drawings. We finally met in Bogotá in 2022, when she asked me to tattoo a pair of cherries on her arm. Since then, she’s become one of my favorite people to create with and someone I always feel completely at ease around.

We talked about her latest EP, Lo que no se ve pero sabemos que existe, recording sounds between New York, Palmarí, and Bogotá, what it means to listen, and how painting has become a conversation with herself.

Catalina will be in New York from August 5–26, guest tattooing at The High Priestess.

We’re excited to share our very first workshop that we’ve been working on with Bianca Pérez Dunn our Tarot Birth Card Collage Workshop at recess grove on Monday, August 24th from 6:30-9 pm!

Hosted by Bianca Dunn and S. Lister Hernández, this workshop invites participants to discover their Tarot Birth Card and create a collage inspired by it. We’ll spend time with each card before beginning to make, allowing our own interpretations to unfold rather than searching for a single meaning.

Everyone who joins us will receive a free beginner’s pocket guide to the Major Arcana and a Something Else notebook to take home.

We’ll also have a small selection of books, zines, tote bags, patches, and cassettes published by Something Else available throughout the evening. Every purchase helps support future programming and allows us to continue organizing events like this one.

We can’t wait to share this evening with you 🥹

EP: lo que no se ve pero sabemos que existe by

This EP is a sensory diary of textures recorded over the last three years. A collection of fragments, landscapes, echoes of memory, and longing.

An invitation to listen to the presence of what is absent and to the shadows that seem to embrace us from another dimension. An album meant to be heard slowly, like looking out the window of a train or walking alone through an unfamiliar city.

Field recordings captured between New York, Palmarí, and Bogotá are woven together with synthesizers and digital instruments.
