Wählen darf sie nicht. Mitbestimmen darf sie kaum.
Aber sprechen — das lässt sich niemand verbieten.
Ein Megafon wiegt mehr als ein Stimmzettel, den sie nie bekommt.

Back in primary school, teachers gave that advice: Speak German at home, not Polish.
I kept speaking Polish with my parents — it just felt more natural.

My mother, with her broken German, couldn’t get an appointment when needed. I called — suddenly it worked.
Back then I did not understand what it was really about: structural discrimination.
Same problem, two different voices, two different worlds.
People think a lot has changed since then. Has it really?

In der Grundschule rieten es damals die Lehrer*innen. Zu Hause sollte ich deutsch sprechen, nicht polnisch.
Ich sprach weiter Polnisch mit meinen Eltern — das fühlte sich einfach natürlich an.

Meine Mutter mit gebrochenem Deutsch bekam z.B. keinen Termin bei einer Behörde. Ich rief an — auf einmal klappte es.
Damals merkte ich nicht, worum es wirklich geht: Strukturelle Diskriminierung.

Dasselbe Problem, zwei verschiedene Stimmen, zwei verschiedene Welten.
Man glaubt seither habe sich vieles verändert. Hat es das wirklich?
