FAQ: How long does a drawing take? 😅

Some drawings happen very fast, depending on the subject the energy of the moment and the style… and of course my concentration.
Others take much longer and get colored later in the studio.

This one took at least around 40 minutes for the black outlines. Yes, that’s how long I waited for my Crêpe… but the wait was worth every minute😋

Thanks for the fun interaction to Barak & Deo, the drawing will be exposed at the Crêpe stand soon;)
I keep you posted!

There are so many intense moments during life drawing…
where architecture stops being static, painted by the light design, the music is more a frequency and people are moving vessels of energy.
During Villalobos set at the closing of TRYP, it felt like my brush was moved by all this… like shadows are moved by light.

I painted this triptych with iridescent color on black paper, currently working on a new series that changes depending on light, movement and perspective.

What I realize more and more is that real traces of myself end up inside the work, yes through lines, but also time, presence, exhaustion, attention and energy.
I see the externalised traces of that work after, becoming paintings of fleeting moments.

I usually create prints from my work, but these pieces are still resisting duplication, just like the tension of a real body.
Some works are not meant to be replicated.
Just like people aren’t…
Including me.

This year’s artwork for JFBB, Jewish Film Festival Berlin Brandenburg.

I started this artwork as a photographer
and ended up painting it.

Working with Maria Schrader, whose work moves between intimacy and clarity, made this edition especially meaningful for me.

For the past six years, I’ve been creating the festival’s visual identity.
Each year starts from zero, with a new face and a new concept , always pushing a bit further.
The festival team’s support makes this one of my yearly highlights.

Shot at Filmkunst 66.
A trailer will be released soon.

Photography lets you release an image with a click.
Painting asks you to hold it longer, stroke by stroke.

A recap before I stop collaborating with Gorki after 12 years!.

Walking around Berlin and suddenly seeing your own work on the walls is always a strange and beautiful feeling.

I guess after all these years of making posters for around the city I can say I became a bit of a poster girl :)

Maybe that’s also why the street has always been part of my work.
For the last twelve years my Gorki images have lived on the walls of Berlin.

This one is for Jane Eyre by Nairi Hadodo.
Premiere tonight.

Over the next weeks I’ll start sharing more of the work from those years, posters, photography and my newest series of drawings that connect to them.

Starting with this one.
