🎶 Concert Highlight | Berlin 🎶

Join us on Sunday, 11 January 2026 at 5:00 pm at the Königin-Luise-Kirche Waidmannslust for an evening of richly coloured string music and brilliant Baroque flair.

We are especially excited to welcome our first international soloist, Dr Roberta Michel (USA) 🎉 — flautist and the new Professor of Flute at Bowling Green State University, Ohio. She will appear as soloist in Pergolesi’s Flute Concerto in G, bringing her artistry across the Atlantic to Berlin.

🎄✨ What a fluteful 2025 it’s been at Neues Kammerorchester Berlin! From moving flute concertos to joyful chamber performances, this year we’ve celebrated six extraordinary women in music:

• Jingyi Cao – Mozart Flute Concerto in D, conducted by Melissa Panlasigui in June 🎵

• Gratia Stryker-Härtel – Devienne Flute Concerto No. 7 in E minor, conducted by Jo Maia in November 🎶

• Dr. Roberta Michel – Pergolesi Flute Concerto in G P.33, conducted by Genevieve Eckel in our upcoming January concert 🎼

We’ve also cherished so many wonderful chamber concerts: ✨

• An all-Saint-Saëns woodwind programme with NKB wind soloists in March
• Opera programmes at the Orangerie, Schloss Charlottenburg in May to July
• 🎷 A Bolling Jazz Suite for flute in October
• 🎵 The NKB Wind Quintet performing at the Latin American Festival, MEX-Berlin, and a festive Tchaikovsky Nutcracker Suite performance a few days ago!

Wir freuen uns sehr, Jo Maia nach ihrem erfolgreichen Konzert im vergangenen Jahr mit der Pianistin Lucia Lvjie Zhang wieder in Berlin willkommen zu heissen. In diesem November kehrt sie ans Dirigentenpult des Neuen Kammerorchesters Berlin zurück – mit einem Programm voller Eleganz, Energie und Ausdruckskraft. An ihrer Seite: die Flötistin Gratia Stryker-Härtel.

This Sunday, 19 January 2025, at 17:00, we are delighted to present the extraordinary flautist and pianist Gratia Stryker-Härtel at Ein Abend mit Saint-Saëns: Romantik für Holzbläser, held at the Königin-Luise-Kirche Waidmannslust (Bondickstraße 14, 13469 Berlin).

Based in Berlin, Gratia is an artist of remarkable versatility, whose performances reflect both technical brilliance and emotional depth. Her extensive career includes recent highlights such as a benefit concert for earthquake relief, a recording with the Barenboim Academy Orchestra, and collaborations with the Conductor's Forum Studio Orchestra in Berlin. Gratia studied at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Queens College, CUNY, where she trained with such luminaries as Robert Dick and Paula Robison, who has been a profound influence on her artistry.

Gratia’s musical journey spans genres and traditions, encompassing historical performance, contemporary repertoire, and influences from Indian and West African music. Beyond the concert stage, she is a dedicated teacher, leading a private studio in Berlin and sharing her expertise through international workshops and masterclasses.

We invite you to immerse yourself in the lyrical beauty of her flute as she brings Saint-Saëns' works to life this Sunday.

This Sunday, 19 January 2025, at 17:00, join us to witness the exceptional talent of Nathaniel Sanchez, an accomplished oboist and Heckelphone specialist, at Ein Abend mit Saint-Saëns: Romantik für Holzbläser in the beautiful Königin-Luise-Kirche Waidmannslust (Bondickstraße 14, 13469 Berlin).

Nathaniel’s musical career has taken him across the United States, where he has captivated audiences with his mastery of the oboe, oboe d’amore, English horn, and Heckelphone. A graduate of Bard College Conservatory of Music, where he was guided by mentors such as Elaine Douvas, he is also an alumnus of the renowned Interlochen Arts Academy.

In addition to his artistry as a performer, Nathaniel is deeply involved in the craftsmanship of oboe-making and reed design. His commitment to his craft is as inspiring as his performances, which bring a fresh voice to the world of double-reed instruments. We are thrilled to announce that early this year, Nathaniel will take the stage with the Metropolitan Opera in New York, marking another milestone in his career.

This Sunday, 19 January 2025, at 17:00, we are honoured to welcome Sandra Fajardo, an accomplished clarinettist and dedicated educator, to the stage at Ein Abend mit Saint-Saëns: Romantik für Holzbläser. The concert will take place in the stunning Königin-Luise-Kirche Waidmannslust (Bondickstraße 14, 13469 Berlin).

Sandra’s artistry has graced concert halls across North America, South America, and Europe, including major cities such as New York, Buenos Aires, and Bogotá. With a Bachelor’s degree in Clarinet Performance from Central University of Colombia and advanced studies at Texas Christian University, Sandra’s musical foundation is both rigorous and inspiring. Her orchestral career includes performances with the San Angelo Symphony, Irving Symphony Orchestra, and Plano Symphony Orchestra in Texas, where her expressive interpretations have been widely celebrated.

Sandra’s passion for music extends beyond performance. As an educator, she has enriched the lives of countless young musicians through her teaching roles in Texas and Colombia, inspiring the next generation of clarinettists.
