Trotz des schrecklichen Krieges in der Ukraine und der Konfliktsituationen in so vielen anderen Ländern, möchten wir mit einem Konzert mit Melodien aus ganz Europa und einem Glas französischen Weins einen positiven und hoffnungsvollen Schlusspunkt setzen.

Natalia Skrycka (Mezzosopran) und Lorenzo Di Toro (Pianist) sind Mitglieder des Ensembles der Staatsoper. Auf dem Programm stehen Lieder und Songs von Hanns Eisler und Kurt Weill, aber auch Klassiker von Edith Piaf, Domenico Modugno sowie neapolitanische und polnische Melodien.

The exhibition “Not a dream” will be devoted to the most recent works of two outstanding visual artists, Vlada Ralko and Volodymyr Budnikov, and their experience of the first months of full-scale war in their country, Ukraine.

Conceived as a total experience, the scenography specially designed by Aurélie Maestre offers a raw encounter with the works and a direct confrontation with the reality they depict. The exhibition is a non-commercial event, supported by the Peace for Art foundation and hosted by ArtEast Gallery Berlin-Kyiv.

A year ago, the first ArtEastGallery opening took place in Berlin with the beautiful cityscapes of Dzhurayeva. Convinced that Ukrainian contemporary art and Ukrainian culture in general was underrepresented in Europe, we intended to help highlight some of the fabulous artists living and build bridges to Western Europe.

It was a heartwarming evening, and looking back after such a difficult year, we cherish those memories even more.

The challenges and problems have become even greater today, and we will continue to support Ukrainian artists and culture with passion and commitment

Berlin vient à Paris !

ArtEast Gallery organise les mercredi 29 et jeudi 30 juin à Paris une expo-vente d’œuvres graphiques et de photographies d’artistes ukrainiens. Le produit de la vente sera reversé aux artistes ainsi qu’au studio de création et de production français Les Monstres pour la réalisation d’un documentaire sur l’Ukraine contemporaine. Cet événement franco-allemand a pour but de renforcer les liens entre les cultures européennes et de valoriser le patrimoine commun.

Squats in Berlin and in Kyiv at the fall of the Iron Curtain: cross-studies of cases of “Tacheles Kunstinitiative” and “Paris Commune Street” (1990-1994)

Today we are posting an article that our research assistant Baptiste Perrault wrote in January. The aim was to present similarities between the artistic scene in Berlin and Kyiv in the 90ies and show that both cities have played a central role in the narratives of the artists and their creativity.

Publishing it today is an act of resistance and a call to solidarity! Protecting Kyiv, its inhabitants and its patrimony, it is protecting the freedom that both cities have been embodying for decades.
