Teresa Riemann presented a durational performance for drums, voice and feedback. Repetitive beats like steadily ticking clocks that announce the end of time, interrupted by distorted voices and sudden percussive outbursts of energy, supression isn't meant to last.
The piece developed as a response to the question if there wasn't something 'like a celebration of being lost' in my artistic approach. I asked myself about a feeling i had sensed but wasn't quite aware of how to categorize it not only but also in the noise / experimental music scene in Berlin, dancing on the ruins of your pain. It deals with the agony that surrounds us and the way we behave towards it, the choices we make being confronted hourly with our total helplessness facing the devastating course of events worldwide, the ever lurking end, and the conscience that yet every action matters.

Slowly we grow into the pavement, until the bottom is reached, the bottom of affairs.
Motionless we remain, within the center of despair.

The answer is a strong no.
Or in another words:
'Welcome to the 21st century. We are celebrating the absolut absence of content.'
Is this a place to stay in?
