GALERIE SUPPER

GALERIE SUPPER The GALERIE SUPPER is specialized in contemporary art. Founded in 2002 it opened in Baden-Baden in 2012 with its current profile.

The gallery promotes young, emerging artists with an unique signature. It is the intention to correlate them with renowned artists. Their positions should complement and stimulate each other, whereas every artist keeps his own characteristics. The gallery´s main focus follows two different guidelines:
1. We do present artists, that consider and acquire all possibilities of representation.
2. We do

present artists, that question and reflect the current state of our society in their work. The gallery is member of the regional association of galleries in Baden-Wuerttemberg e.V. The gallery has an space of approximately 200 m². Up to six shows are held each year. In addition it is the gallery´s special concern to promote qualified young talents of the Kunstakademie Karlsruhe in an annual curated exhibition. To every one-artist-show a catalogue is being printed. Apart from gallery-exhibitions, artists´ discussions, public readings and cooperations underline the exhibition activity. GALERIE Supper is represented at international art fairs.

After introducing Leonhard Wachter, we now turn to the second artistic position in our upcoming exhibition “Zwischen Räume”: Pauline T. Schulte.

At first glance, her paintings speak through colour.

Soft pinks meet earthy greens, deep burgundy and luminous accents. Organic forms expand across the canvas, while plants, creatures and signs move somewhere between recognition and abstraction.

Yet beneath this immediate visual presence lies something less definite.

Pauline T. Schulte creates pictorial spaces in which forms feel familiar without ever becoming fully fixed. A cactus can become a figure, a dragon turns into rhythm and movement, and abstract shapes begin to suggest connection, proximity and belonging.

There is something playful in this visual language - but also something searching.

Titles such as “Somewhere I Belong 2” and “Alles ist verbunden” open questions of belonging, relationships and the structures that connect us. Meaning is never entirely prescribed. Instead, the paintings leave space for association, intuition and personal memory.

This openness creates a compelling counterpart to Leonhard Wachter’s work. Their visual languages could hardly be more different and yet both artists are drawn to those moments in which certainty begins to shift and perception remains open.

This is where “Zwischen Räume” begins: not in similarity, but in the space that emerges between two distinct artistic positions.

Some paintings do not tell a story. They invite us to search for one.

With Leonhard Wachter, we introduce the first of the two artistic positions in our upcoming exhibition “Zwischen Räume.”

Wachter’s paintings emerge from observations of our present: urban scenes, people of his generation, fleeting situations and the constant flood of images that shapes everyday life.

Yet what we see never remains simply reality.

Forms dissolve, spaces shift, impressions overlap. Familiar situations turn into pictorial worlds somewhere between reality, memory and imagination.

His figures often carry a sense of melancholy and uncertainty — a quiet search for orientation and for one’s place in the world.

Wachter deliberately avoids clear narratives. His works remain open, inviting us to look more closely, make our own connections and allow meaning to emerge rather than simply receive it.

This is precisely what makes his position so compelling within “Zwischen Räume”: his paintings inhabit those transitional spaces in which certainty begins to dissolve and perception remains open.

Not everything needs to be resolved. Sometimes a work gains its greatest strength by remaining open.

Works shown:

Gegenlicht, 2026
Acrylic on canvas, 100 × 120 cm

night watch, 2026
Acrylic on canvas, 70 × 100 cm

Schachmatt, 2025

Two positions. Two visual languages. One space in between.

What happens when two artistic positions meet whose works could hardly appear more different at first glance?

With Leonhard Wachter and Pauline T. Schulte, our upcoming exhibition “Zwischen Räume” brings together two young artistic positions with highly distinctive visual languages.

It is precisely their difference that opens up the dialogue.

In their own ways, both explore those elusive moments in which perception begins to shift, certainties dissolve, and new possibilities emerge.

The exhibition moves through spaces between memory and the present, reality and imagination, vulnerability and resilience – transitional states in which nothing seems entirely fixed.

As a programme gallery, it is precisely this in-between that interests us: not the juxtaposition of similar positions, but the tension that arises when different artistic approaches encounter one another.

“Zwischen Räume” opens up a dialogue – between the works, between different ways of seeing, and ultimately between art and the viewer.

Over the coming weeks, we will introduce both artistic positions in more detail.
