Fifteen years ago today.
Eivind Hovden was 15 years old.
He was a member of Turbojugend Skien – one of ours. He loved rock’n’roll and had his whole life ahead of him.
On 22 July 2011 he was murdered on Utøya, along with 76 other innocent people – most of them kids – by a narcissistic fascist who wanted to kill a generation's belief in community, solidarity and each other.
The fascist failed.
We remember.
Every year, every name.
Eivind would have been 30 now. We think about who he would have become – and we carry him with us, in the TJ, in the crowd, at every show.
We will never forget you, little brother.
In the antifascist tradition of Spain and Chile, when the name of a fallen comrade is called out, the crowd answers on their behalf – because the dead still stand in our ranks:
