Hier ist unsere offizielle Playlist für das Festival. Natürlich sind nicht alle Künstler, die bei uns auftreten auf Spotify zu finden. Aber von denen, die dort sind, haben wir mal ein paar Stunden zusammengestellt. Sie eignet sich auch supergut als Untermalung für die Anreise.

Die Überraschungen sind das schöne an der Zappanale, denn neben den Bands, die Zappa selbst interpretieren, gibt es allerlei abseitiges und unberechenbares. Völlig unerwartet war diese japanische Psychedelic-Grooveband, die Mittags um zwölf vor eine Handvoll Skeptiker begann und vor hunderten tanzenden Zuschauern endeten. Eine echte Entdeckung: vier junge Japaner, die begeistert aufgenommen wurden.

The surprises are what make Zappanale so special; alongside the bands that interpret Zappa’s music, there is all manner of offbeat and unpredictable fare. One completely unexpected highlight was a Japanese psychedelic groove band that started out playing to a handful of skeptics at noon and finished up performing for hundreds of dancing spectators. A real discovery: four young Japanese musicians who were received with great enthusiasm.

Diese Band ist in mehrfacher Hinsicht etwas für Auge und Ohren: mit der ungewöhnlichen Instrumentierung ohne Bass, aber mit Sousaphone und der energetischen Helene Matthia am Gesang. Die Band beschreibt ihre zwischen Progressiv Rock und Avantgarde pulsierende Musik mit dem Gefühl, »als sei Nina Hagen in einem Tim Burton Film verloren gegangen …« ;-) Sehr schön!

In several respects, this band is a feast for both the eyes and the ears—thanks to its unusual instrumentation (featuring no bass, but a sousaphone) and the energetic Helene Matthia on vocals. The band describes their music—which pulsates somewhere between progressive rock and the avant-garde—with the evocative image of feeling "as if Nina Hagen had gotten lost inside a Tim Burton film..." ;-) Very nice!

Eine legendäre Band, vor mehr als fünfzig Jahren gegründet und heute noch immer aufregend anders: Agitation Free sind seit einigen Jahren wieder Live unterwegs und jetzt endlich auch auf der Zappanale. Wir freuen uns auf Lüül und Co. mit einem intensiven Soundgewitter und beeindruckenden Visuals!

A legendary band, founded more than fifty years ago and still excitingly unique today: Agitation Free have been back on the road performing live for several years now—and are finally making their debut at Zappanale. We look forward to seeing Lüül and Co. deliver an intense sonic storm accompanied by impressive visuals!
