Heute Abend darf ich neben sehr gut bekannten Arien wie Händels "Ombra mai fu..." (Serse) und "Fammi combattere" (Orlando) oder Purcells "Thy Hand, Belinda...When I am laid..." (Dido and Aeneas) auch ein eher wenig bekanntes, aber total beeindruckendes Stück von Haydn "Arianna a Nasso" (Ariadne auf Naxos) zusammen mit den 'n unter der Leitung von .hoesel aufführen.

In diesem Konzert gibt's sehr vieles zu entdecken - wir freuen uns auf Euch!

That's always thrilling to make the next show as Carmen - there's much music in my mind and in my body that needs to come up, the character I'm thinking about among other things during the day before the show, but there's also much releasing of the character and letting it live.

Carmen is very essential for my understanding of very fine musical things combined with a good possibility of manifesting ideas and also giving the right way for the hard-core senses (which are unavoidable here😄).

This Sunday we're making our next "Carmen" in Augsburg. It'll be very special for me, because I'll sing it for the first time in my new personal year. Before my next Birthday comes tomorrow, I just want to say a big thank you to this personal year and I'm pretty sure that was right to make my Carmen debut now (although I was ready to debut this role 10 years ago). I'm sure: each year in a singer's development is a new bonus to the reachness of the voice (and the body), of the roles' understanding, of the mental maturity and of the life experience which is a very important part of being an interpreter. I'm grateful!

Heute ging's vor allem um die richtige Mikroportierung am Anfang, um die Aufnahme der Solo-Stellen und die ausführliche Absprache/Probe des Stücks mit dem Dirigenten .enders.conductor und dem Tonmeister Christian Starke.

Wie viel Text hier und da? Wie hell oder wie dunkel soll es da oder da klingen? Wie viel Rubato lässt man hier und dort und wie grell sollen manche Vokale sein? Schaffe ich es, in dieser Frase was zu erzählen und den richtigen Zustand, die richtige Stimmung zu erzeugen oder wird es plötzlich zu mathematisch? Diese Dinge zusammen zu entwickeln macht echt Spaß!

Morgen wird der Aufnahmetag sehr lang, und wir werden von vorne starten. Also es ist angesagt, heute früh genug schlafen zu gehen😂👌🏻.

One of my favourite "operatic" moments in Mendelssohn's oratorio "Elijah" - with the vigorous , precisely and passionately lead by Martin Steidler - congenially accompanied and supported by the .

What a work it was - so happy to have experienced this.

Some memories are really warm, and this is one of such. A fragment of "Laue Sommernacht" ("A warm summer night") by Alma Mahler from the concert with the under the baton of Matthias Foremny at the Philharmonie Berlin in May, 2024 is this piece of the memory.
