WIP F40 engine kit (scale 1/4)

COMPLETE!!

- all wiring looms made and installed.
- added the final bits (clutch, fuel cross feed, intake bridge,...)

Installing the intake units was quite a challenge, as it was difficult to reach all the mounting points and add the washers and nuts. Initially with loud screaming and frustration but then with patience and some breaks it worked. :-)

I am not installing the 2 timing belt covers to keep the details behind visible.

Building step 8 (climate compressor)
Building step 10 (intake unit / coil packs)
Building step 11 (engine stand)

(Building step 9 (clutch / fly-wheel assembly) to follow later)

All parts assembled according instruction manual. Just replaced 1-2 items for personal reasons.
Weathering still has to be done on most parts.

I could not resist and dry fitted most parts for some quick pictures. Sorry for 1-2 pics out of focus.
Also full wiring harness, some hoses and lines still missing to be done in the next updates

Building step 7 (alternator)

I added copper wire (0,25mm) to coil arms of printed part R83 to simulate the coil. This wire is not included in the kit but could easily be added.

Building step 6 (Oil-filter unit)

Oil filter was painted, decal added and gloss clear coated as final step.
Oil filter base was painted with a textured base (microballoons) then sprayed in a silver color and finally slightly weathered (engine grime) Ready for mount to the engine block (step 12)

WIP F40 engine kit 1/4 scale

Instruction stage 5 (cooling x-pipe & throttle linkage)

Etched parts (main throttle arm) soldered together and polished. Painted and mounted the parts. Light weathering will be done in future step.
Electric connections to be done when making the wiring harness.

I decided to add some internal details to the distributors. This is NOT part of the kit, but possible to purchase if wanted.

Started with the building process of the F40 engine. Here step 1: Throttle units. Up to now NO weathering done. This will be done at a later stage.

F40 engine kit.

Hello everyone. I am overwhelmed by the amount of requests about this engine kit already. I already have WAY!!!! more requests than i have engine kits. I am not able to increase the number of kits in the near future. So i cant offer a kit to all that are interested. Please stand by one / two weeks until the kits are ready. I will contact everyone that i can offer a kit then. So please stand by. Even if you did not hear from me now it does not mean you are not able to get a kit. I will contact everyone once the kits are ready.

I will give everyone then the required information about pricing and shipping options.

I am very sorry already, that i cant offer everyone a kit that is interested. But that would be above my possibilities.

Sneak-peak (under development) scale 1/4 (ENGINE F40 kit)

kit will also have engine electric wiring harness (not shown below) that has to be build.

I am making a VERY , VERY limited run of this kit. Probably ready for sale in may 2025.
Kit is made similar to the 288 GTO kit that was made before.
Parts made from 3d-printed resin parts , machined parts, etched parts, hardware parts,....
Over 1000 parts in total.
static display engine (non functional, no internal parts).

This kit is made in less quantity than the 288GTO kit!!!!!!!
